Ron, these are the videos I like best. The videos that show ingenuity and where you are making something. Thx for sharing!

Another great video !! Do you still plan on doing a deep dive video on the Kapex ? Thanks
@TheSmartWoodshop3 ай бұрын
Yes. I have just finished a 5 part series with the Kapex including this one. The Deep Dive is next to shoot and edit. It will be a November release. It will be longer as I have had my Kapex over 13 years and I think I know more about it than Festool.😎🤙

I hear some people have added the Kapex fence to their Dewalt's or whatever, because they are higher. Seems as though this project might be double duty for people who want a higher fence.

Being a lean minded person, I'm surprised that you don't have a Shaper Origin. That would eliminate having to store or recreate all of those templates.

I like the Shaper and one may be in my future. The 'expensive' location tape has been my main hold back and the initial purchase price. I do like the digital storage over physical. 😎🤙

@@TheSmartWoodshop i was thinking about this/you the other day. i build lots of boats as a hobby, so I have always held back because the only CNC that makes sense is the 4x8, or maybe a 4x4. But then since taking up with your pattern routing I thought, most of the stuff I do would fit on a 32x32. And since one can often make parts is sections when I do need a bigger machine I would probably turn out patterns to make the things I want. And template rout those. So for instance, one of the things that people like CNCs for is making puzzle joints for joining sheets of plywood. Actually, scarfs are a lot easier and faster to make, but the puzzle joints give people confidence and have become part of the look. Well, I could cut the pattern for a puzzle joint and template rout it. In your case, a lot of your stuff would almost fit full size on a 32 x32. Sure a CNC takes up space, but it you could reduce a lot of those patterns you have taking up space. And the cost of making them. I know you don't care about the cost of tools, if they make you more efficient. you could cut all the patterns for the bench on a 32x32, or if they were a tiny bit small, you could cut those little pieces with you track saw. It would also make your parts look better, because CNC doesn't care about complexity. You could add aesthetic tension to things like the horses, or have your brand cut into them.
