I really like that you show the bag at the start, and that you give materials and a cut-list at the start. Such a well-planned and shot video - and a handsome bag! I usually carry either crossbody or backpack style. It would be very interesting to see if you could design a bag that opens wide like this, but which would not be easy for thieves, when it’s being carried on the back.

I was looking for a makeup bag to sew that's not too big, still holds a lot of stuff, is practical (let's me see everything, stands on it's own) and is easy to sew. I'm mid project and so far I'm loving it. Using some fabric I already own and didn't know what to do with, just needed to buy a zipper ❤

Thank you, I spend the day making one, a few weeks ago I sorted fabric, and ordered a zip (my first time installing the zip pulls on the zip tape!), really clear video thank you, although as I mapped out the fabric lay so I bought 'just enough' using the cut list - I missed the extra needed for the bias binding. I case any one else is interested, I estimate that you also need 1.2m of 45mm wide bias binding or 6 lots of 20 cm long and 45mm wide bias binding.

In case of adjusting the size of this bag shape to make it smaller or larger than the original, the method is quite complicated and need recalculating all measurements of each piece to make them fit together. Therefore, it cannot be clearly explained by replying through this comment. However, I may make another larger bag in the same shape in the future. Please follow the video tutorial on my channel.

I’ve made this bag to about 85% What’s left to do - Attach inner pockets Attach connecting piece Add bias tape Honestly because my fabrics are too thick this is a project I will not finish.. I don’t really understand why there is such a thick seam running horizontal, it’s quite limiting. Can I ask what thickness of fabric you are using?

This bag shape is not recommended for use with very thick fabric, unless you have a sewing machine capable of handling heavy materials. If you have already started sewing, I recommend using a hammer to gently flatten the thicker areas of the fabric, which will help the sewing machine needle pass through more easily.
