I like the idea of a watercolor sky- sunset/rise idea, Maybe a smaller tree set back in the far left corner that could have a 'tire' swing hanging from it or a flat deck-like tree house protruding from the branches, thus it would be in the perceptional distance and look further away. If you were able to make a tiny hill for it to sit on with the glasso surrounding it like a field in the country. Also some red beads in the other tree with anubius to look like an apple tree.. probably way to detailed but you asked.

I love the idea of using the anubias nana petite for the tree. I have only ever seen the trees done with different mosses, I think it looks awesome!! I think it needs something on the other side to balance it, maybe a hill with a smaller tree? I haven't considered tetras as a show fish, more like an addition to enhance a tank, but they look stunning in this setup!!

If it's not too late for me to add my two cents, your idea about a blue sky background would look GORGEOUS! Maybe you could include fluffy clouds. That tree and "grass" are calling for it!

Love how the tank is coming along. I really like the asymmetrical look, so I would not add a second tree myself, but it's your tank so you have to please yourself. The Cardinals are awesome in it, it'll look amazing with even more.

I love the small leaves on the Anubias nana (petite). It works really well. I hate to say it, but when you were planting the Lobelia. I knew that it was going to eventually impede on the views of your bonsai tree . lol. It's looking good now. I'm really enjoying this one.👍

YES add some rummynoses! I love those tetras so much ^^ I think a light blue or vibrant green background would look nice! I don't think you should do another tree. Maybe a cluster of a different kind of plant? Or maybe some smaller trees in a little cluster, to look like a small distant forest. I feel like an extra bonsai driftwood tree would take away from the two you already have in there.

Yes add another smaller Bonsai tree with anubis, along with a few rocks. If you're up to a bigger change, could add a slight hill on left rear corner for the new tree and rocks to sit up on. This would add some needed depth perception. Consider using the new Current Serene background with lighting . Gives awesome colors. You could do an awesome sunset scene with that.

A watercolor background might be awesome. I would use a blue graduated wash fading down from the top and a brown wash fading up from the bottom. Then add minimal landscaping details. Be sure to spray a layer of workable fixative over the finished painting to protect it from accidental splashes.

Beautiful! The cardinals look striking against the light green. I use foam board for my backgrounds and plan on painting them. It's my frugal way and I can change it any time if I get tired of it. I would love to see the edge of a forest at the other end of the tank. Maybe some tall slender trees. Maybe 3-5 in front of the flow valve. I know what you mean. I'm always changing my tanks especially when I see something awesome like yours.😊💚

Really cool scape. If you add fast growing stem plants in the rear where the bonsai tree is, it will help with the algae. Also, it might help shade the lower light requirement anubias once the stem plants reach the surface?

It's gorgeous! Personally, I would definitely add another tree, but I would put a smaller one in there (about half the size as the current one). I think I would place it either fairly close to the big one or very far away, just as long as the tank doesn't look like it's symmetrical or split evenly.

Nice tank. I dig that tree and agree, you should put another one to the left and I'd look perfect in my opinion. I believe a tank with small fish should be crowded with aqua plants and a little less crowded with larger fish.

I think another smaller tree to add depth would be cool. Stick with the nana petite for uniformity. Also, what about your big tanks in the aquarium lab? Have they all been torn down? I really liked the one you did with the roots of manzanita that you propagated all that s. Repens through. I’ve liked just about every aquascape you’ve had in the year or so I’ve been watching you

Yo I had the same "problem" with having my anubias really close to the light and I solved it by leting it break the surface and I added floating plants to my tank and they all end up collecting around the leaf thats breaking the surface, this way you give the anubias natural shading to minimize algae and burn dmg and still keep the rest of ur tank under high light. I use water lettuce but im sure any other floating plant will do just as fine as long as it has decent size roots to hang on to the anubias area. I love the cardinal tetras, I have those as my main school fish too :D Other fish u might wanna consider are some sort of corydoras (they like to munch on melting plants) and they keep things fresh. You probly wanna add some types of algae eaters too, SAE or otos or shrimps or a pleco or whatever u prefer. I really like the otocinclus and siamese algae eater
