My friend Pete! I laughed so hard when the tape got stuck to your fingers and it wouldn't come off...you should use that on all your videos either at the start or the end! Very funny because it happens to me all the time..especially my shoes and sometimes I don't see it until I'm in a store or restaurant and at my age it's a sonofabitch to reach down and get it off! heeheeheehee

Nice video like always pete, i wash all the video, but theres one thing i did not understand, when u mix the drye pearl, did u just mix it pearl and reducer, or it was little be of base paint, pearl and reducer, ? if you can help me pete with this question or some body out there thanks in advance, god blesed.
@diyautoschool4 жыл бұрын
Just reducer only.. Use Medium Temp Reducer to do this with so it will give it a good time period to otomize properly

Pete is there a chance you could do a video on the color blender in a panel repair situation. of course when and if you have time Thanks.
@davesage91908 жыл бұрын
Hi Pete:I'm new to the pearl thing - well actually painting in general. I enjoy watching listening and learning. LOL Did I see that right - Just the dry flakes in reducer?? So how does it stick - just melt into the existing basecoat. I see you're about to cover it with the blender so I guess that holds it down for the next step? Just wondering.Makes me want to go out and get a piece of sheet metal and give it a try. Can't wait till the next installment to see the rest.ThanksSage
@diyautoschool8 жыл бұрын
Something like that, you want to take the pearl powder and mix it with reducer, then spray your flames to the consistency that you like, once this is done then spray with the blender to protect them.. The pearl will go on dry because your moving fast and your gun is held back, so don't touch them or mess with them till you have applied the blender.. Practice on some sheet metal panels before jumping into a full motorcycle paint job..
@davesage91908 жыл бұрын
Thanks Pete: That explains it. What I find frustrating is the price of paint etc. That makes it very expensive to just "Play around" to gain some experience. I suppose there's no point in buying cheap supplies even to play with. Oh well I guess you just have to bite the bullet. I enjoy your videos - even the travel logs. Keep up the good work. Sage

Robert Gwinn Hi Rob. To be truthful, I haven't even had one of my bikes fired up this summer yet. I built an auxiliary gas tank for the chopper and got that installed with the solo seat but me and Wendy have been busy cutting firewood for winter so just no time for riding yet. Pretty soon, I hope, but now I'm getting side tracked on building a sidecar for the chopper, so who knows. LOL. God bless and stay safe.

Thinking out loud here, Why not cover the tank in friskit paper, draw flames, and then cut them out?
@LRSS24557 жыл бұрын
You run the risk of cutting into the paint below, depending on paint materials used, it can cause a paint lifting situation which will destroy all of your work. I have used frisket paper on top of the fine line tape and cut it out. It does save a lot of time doing it that way.
