Thank you so much! No one ever revisits their DIY's and I always want to know how they hold up. The wall in the bedroom beside the mirror is the perfect place for you to put in some pretty storage for all that stuff beside the wardrobe. You're welcome! 🤣

Felt or plastic pads under the bench legs will help avoid scratches on the floor. I think if you repaint the kitchen countertop trim, you can poli over it for a more durable finish (although it sounds like you're going to rip those out, so problem solved). Your diy drawer dividers inspired me to do the same. I too love mine. I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thanks for all your content!
@sandieedward993Ай бұрын
Yes...solution to bench is pads on feet was thinking about the same solution as they all look great 👍 👌 just wood scraping on painted tile will scratch it up over time, anytime you sit there...could make that another shoe storage area, in the bedroom rather than everything in the closet 😮

Dani! You should replace your kitchen faucet with a touch on/off spout! Then you won’t be touching the adjustment bar as often…therefore you’ll have less water dripping onto the butcher block countertop. The hardest thing will be the one week adjustment getting used to touching it to turn it on. Annnd then when you go to parents houses and you try to tap on the faucet…but it’s so much better in all the ways plus less water damage.

For your kitchen faucet, you might wanna look into diatomite. It's a stone like material that is SUPER absorbant and you could just slide it around the base as a little tray for your soap bottles and it would double as protection for the area at the back of your sink

Something to encourage you to swap out those light fixtures you don't love, and show us how you go about updating your kitchen sink area since there are several ways you could go about it, and maybe picking a new paint+wallpaper combo for your vanity area to freshen it up :D I wonder if you can sand down the piece of the dresser that you said made it hard to put clothes into the top drawer, or if the scalloping would still be in the way even if its backing piece was thinner. And would some sort of sealant make the kenobi lamp easier to clean?

And a happy boop to you this fine morning. I’m over here with my hot cold combo, which thrilled me when you said that. I didn’t know anybody else who did that. Mine is coffee and sparkling water. I wanted to suggest that all you need to cover up what used to be pretty but it is now not so pretty on that shelf next to your closet, is another door. It would just fit in perfectly. I imagine it might be a slightly different width, but I think that would look better than seeing your shoeboxes. Sadly, we have to put our stuff somewhere. Sometimes it just turns out not to be that good looking lol.

I had the same thought. Since it seems like it won’t work because of the attic hatch, might it be possible to do a partial door, like a Dutch door without the top part? Then some wicker or nice fabric baskets/bins might help to corral the other miscellany that still shows? Not sure if that addresses the problem, though, since I haven’t seen the original video.

The concept of this video is excellent! It seems unique, but what do I know: I'm a 60 year old white southern lady. You can apply hardware-store Johnson's Paste Wax to your shower door as well as the glass. There is a learning curve to using this old-fashioned product. In this case it would serve as a water repellent, not as a shiny finish or topcoat. I applied it to my shower door years ago. It prevents water spots and corrosion. If any cleaning agent gets on it, it looses some of its advantages, so just wipe clean with warm water or warm soapy water and rinse.

@28:03 Thought on the vanity lights: since you said earlier in the video how much you loved your DIY for the stair light, maybe you could consider making smaller sconce versions for vanity lights if/when you do a refresh of the vanity area? I still love the project and it's clear how functional it is for you (and girl, what are you talking about with it not being styled as nicely? It looks like something that actually gets used and it's incredibly tidy. It looks like what it is, a real, beautiful project, rather than a Pinterest showpiece), but maybe it's time to trade the wallpaper for something that feels more appropriate for you now and how you use the piece. I think it's really nice to show people that just because you've created a functional project for yourself, as we grow and our tastes change, it's relatively straightforward to tweak things to better suit us without spending a lot of time, effort, or money to do it.

Take the lights you don't like from the bathroom, install them above the blue vanity, change the vanity pulls to black (blue and black look great together) and add clear pads on the back of the mirror to protect the wall. The gold pulls and lights make the vanity look dated which also makes the wallpaper appear dated, as well. Love the rock art!

Danie, I LOVE the revisiting of all your diy's! For the vanity, don't change the wallpaper. I say pull one of the greens out of it and paint the vanity that green or in the same tone. It will make the wallpaper look less 'blue' ( even though that blue is gorgeous 😍 as my bathroom cabinet is the same shade and brass handles as well.) I agree the lights in that space are not quite right, 🤔maybe something without the grid on them, just a bell shape. Love watching all of your projects! ❤gives me WAY too many ideas along with all of the ones i currently have going or planning 🙃

Keep a container of floor paint 2-4 ounces, any sealed container, rubber band a small sponge square on top. Touch up your floor paint as needed, at bedtime works best. Sponge on some paint, toss the sponge, put a new piece of, put away, done. Your painted floors will look good forever.

Love all your DIYs and when you see them all together it's truly amazing. Thanks for the generous tour! So much ambition went into that brick stoop. Maybe some peel and stick felt would help the entry stool not to scratch the floor? The cabinet project was impressive. Behind your kitchen sink, what about waxing the counter top? And how about a ceramic or vinyl trim piece to replace the edge where the paint gets worn? Would the brass accents on the Kenobi's feed station benefit from Varathane or spray paint? Love everything about the hall, especially the rock art. For the open shelf at the end of the Pax in your room, if it's no longer serving for display, how about a curtain in front of it hanging from a tension rod? I used an inexpensive shower curtain in a similar spot in my home. For the corner in your room that you are not sure about, depending on what you want to use the space for, I might go for a cozy chair that could serve as both a drop spot for clothing, but also a soft texture /colour accent. I am picturing maybe a small curved tub-chair, possibly with caning, maybe a velvet upholstery (like your throw pillow) with a creamy textured throw ;) Do you think the hanging lights could have been given a spray finish to make cleaning easier, or was there just too much texture? If you don't love the blue vanity colour, but you maybe still like the wall paper, could you repaint with a deep red or green from the paper? And a couple of silicone bumper stick-on bits could save the paint scuff. The bathroom is one of my favourites. Love the wainscotting and wondering how easy it is to clean? And the storage cabinet is beautiful. Looking forward to seeing the workshop come together, the new kitchen countertops, the office makeover, and all things organizational. Love to see you do art as well. In 2025 I'd also love to see you hit 500K subs 💜

I love what you do Danie! when working with wood that will be around water, use WaterLox....its fabulous! Also, amazon has an accessory that I love . Its a absorbant strip that fits around your faucet stem to catch the water and has a waterproof backing on it to keep water from soaking through.(I think its called a sink mop) Your faucet may be a little too close to the sink for it to lay flat but it should still work.

I love the IKEA hack. I’m trying to figure out how to fit that into some room in my house - we have many, many very small rooms.😂

Wardrobe is great. It has an Art Deco vibe. Well done.

The brick and the front entry as a whole looks so good. I was crazy impressed when I first saw the video and it is awesome to know it has held up! Cannot believe you did that yourself!

Dani, for the bedroom. Custom thin cabinet or ikea hack to store shoes inside with a 12 - 14 inch deep top for holding pretties and bedside items. That moves the shoes out of the corner so you can use your shelves again.

I really like the vanity out of the small closet as well. The idea has me plotting…. 😊
