I'm confused how the top could be this long after you cut so much off it.After all it was just a dress before but has somehow miraculously become a tunic length top and skirt - and the top comes down over the skirt by a considerable length.

Really is this such an updated piece? I think I would wear the vintage dress as is. Love the bag bottom and I do similar projects but that twisty strap ruins the look.
