David, I can't say it enough, you are the man! Once I get a CNC I will have to re-watch this episode. Extremely informative and seemly cover all the bases except for us doing it ourselves, which is my next step. Once again thank you for the lesson and as always looking forward to the next one. Take care my man and be safe.

David, your link for the HSMAdvisor and FSWizard software doesn't seem to work, just a heads-up

I had exactly the same result with G and even had support tell me my machine must just be broken. Refund!

wow, ya... weird strategy they have going on over there.

@@DIYEngineering Seams they just don't want to deal with hobby level machines? I have a Tormach 440 a very capable machine, but even using the safest numbers from G, I lost a few $$ carbide end mills... I do wish HSMAdvisor had a Mac version...

@@DIYEngineering have you ever heard of the Canadian brand Shariff? Apparently you can cut Super alloy metals on that machine. for $4000 Canadian it's a steal!

Messing around with this i really can't get good values with wood using HSM Advisorit really wants me to drop my rpm down to 7000ish which seems less than ideal for wood. DO you use it for wood or just for aluminium?
@blabla-kk8bl Жыл бұрын
7:36 a machinist advice , the rpm is too high and WOC is too less , 6000 rpm 1mm WOC would do same job better without chatter. All these software seems garbage.
@DIYEngineering Жыл бұрын
while I agree, the machine does not have linear torque, and at 6k would not be able to cut a 1mm WOC it would just stall the spindle.
