Sam, what I LOVE about you is that you are not afraid to take a chance. I suppose, as I get older, I'm afraid of that. But, this year, I tackled making wooden spoons with just a bandsaw, router table, grinder with a scraping wheel. It shocked me how great it worked out. It was a challenge from my wife and we used totally scrap wood that someone was going to throw away. So, lesson learned. Take chances. Love your channel Sam - so can I talk you into having your spouse to being on the channel and jamming. I really want to hear his guitar playing. Cheers :) P.S. What is the model of your BOSCH miter saw and would you recommend it!

This video inspired me to make my own. I made mine go from ceiling to floor so it looks like an accent wall. The bottom of the wall has a hidden cabinet door for folding stools. I added pole wrap to panels that show when closed as the decorative element and painted it all black. I also put wall paper on the wall behind the shelves to give it an extra decorative touch when you open it! Thanks for the video! It was super helpful!!

Hi. Love the look of it. How stable is the leg? We have two young Aussies dogs that bump into everything and I’m afraid that the leg might get run into and move from the correct position.
@diyhuntress Жыл бұрын
Thank you! It’s pretty stable once it’s down cause the hinges don’t open any wider, but you could always add some lockout brackets to the back if you’re worried about it getting knocked!

It's such a nice project! I'm just wondering what would happen if you accidentally kick or push the leg. I think maybe it will fall? Maybe it would be a good idea to have something holding the leg in the right position when the table is opened🤔
@diyhuntress Жыл бұрын
Definitely an option, if that’s something you’re worried about!
@fayliatremblay14568 ай бұрын
Did you end up adding hinges to secure it? (I think hinges might be the term for securing a folding table when it’s in position so that if you “kick” it by accident it doesn’t fall down or something?)

Once the table is open, what is keeping the leg from moving? Does that hinge lock in that open position?
@diyhuntress Жыл бұрын
Yes! I chose hinges with limited mobility, so they’d take a lot of force to get them to move once down, unless you’re folding it up.

I'd name it shelf wall table. Also would chisel a bit of the wood of below where you put the handle - so it's flush on the floor (won't scrape anything). You can play around with this design. Even instead of a full wood panel as the leg - only put a frame. Or a Y - that gets folded down. Then the downside of the table can be an art piece, wallpapered...

You could create something like this but have it recessed between 2 (wall)studs.
@rdb4996 Жыл бұрын
If you hate the look of the (filled) pocket holes, I probably would invert the planks. Making sure that the holes are on top (except for the bottom plank). Unless anyone knows if that would be a problem with the stability of the joint/weight the planks can carry?
@j.f.32 Жыл бұрын
Hi. How do u prevent the table "leg" to slide and have everything on the table falling off?

Not sure I understand how the art/leg doesn't get kicked out and the whole table drops. Need something to brace/stay the table/leg orientation when it's open.
@diyhuntress Жыл бұрын
The hinges I found can only open to 90 degrees. So, once it’s down it doesn’t go anywhere. If you’re nervous about it being kicked though, a brace or an additional hinge can easily be installed. 😊
