DIY Home Office/Guest Room Makeover | Making A Work From Home Space For Mom!

Today I’m finally sharing the full DIY home office/guest room makeover I have been working on for my mom! As a physical therapist for children, it’s super important that she has a space to work in and store her equipment in. But, since my family is tight on space, I decided to combine the guest room and home office into one space, and she is so stoked about it (just wait until you see her reaction)!

Gorgeous room! Such great work! Love home decorators too! What a great resource with reasonable prices. The caulk kits with straight edges are incredibly easy and leave a nicer finish / edging. I used to caulk my tub the same way you did the trim, but I decided to do a lot of research on the topic this last time and one KZbinr convinced me to go after the 45 degree angle using tools you can get for this. The result was so much better than I'd ever seen. In fact, I never did like the feathering of caulk and won't caulk again without using the kit.

The murphy bed is named after William Lawrence Murphy (1876-1957), an Irish immigrant in New York who wanted to find a creative method of making space in his small apartment. He applied for his first patents around 1900. According to legend, he was wooing an opera singer, but living in a one-room apartment in San Francisco, and the moral code of the time frowned upon a woman entering a man's bedroom. So he created this bed all just to get laid 😂

Ok, your trick for hanging the mirror by using masking tape to mark the holes....omg. I am a serial DIYer and am always stumped when marking screws for pieces that need multiple ones, especially working in an old house with no straight walls to work your measurements from. THX! Will do this next time.

DIY Huntress , sure! I was going to have the whole first floor done professionally by a contractor down to the studs. It’s an old house and wanted to update it to an open floor plan. It’ll incorporate moving bathroom, relocating stairs and plumbing and kitchen cabinets. Haven’t gotten to some of those items yet, currently enclosing a sunroom to a state-of-the-art look.
