Excellent build. I have zero use for this but I watch for learning techniques and to see you shed setup as it's a small space. Cannot wait to see how you tweak the space.

This is an awesome video. I have a mountain bike that I absolutely love, but can't ride because I'm in dire need of a hip replacement. I know that leaving a bike on the ground on the tires is not good for it so I'm looking for a better way to store my bike. This looks like just the thing. Thanks for sharing. Got yourself a new sub too.

The one I built here has just shy of a 12” platform! It might work? May just have to reinforce the back a bit more.

If you drill with a forstner bit to avoid tear out try clamping a scrap bit of wood underneath to continue drill into. It leave little to no tear out.
@diyhuntress4 жыл бұрын
I actually did that and still got tear out (you can see the scrap piece underneath). Time for some better bits!

Nice work. I used to make gun cabinets and when i was making the barrel holders. I would drill the holes through the center of a board then ripe it in half. No tare out that way. 🙂👏👏👏
@diyhuntress4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! That’s a good idea! I usually flip the board over and then finish drilling through the other side, but this forstner bit’s tip was too shallow. Gonna invest in some new ones.

Nice video and a very creative way to save space! I'm also looking into installing a bike rack in my flat (not as elaborate as this though :D ) . I do have a question: does the wall you mount the bike rack into have to be of certain thickness to hold the weight of the bicycle?

Nice project, gotta say though that shop space was making me question your tool choices. Ryobi, Milwaukee, Rigid, DeWalt... all in the same shop? If sponsors are sending them to you free that makes sense, otherwise wouldn't it be a hell of a lot easier to just stick to one brand? Fewer batteries to buy, no mixing them up, fewer chargers to keep track of....
