You're more than welcome. I built one over the weekend of July 4th. Really a fun project, and thanks to your instruction, it came out great! I live in the sticks, so mahogany wasn't an option...had to substitute red oak, but it came out real nice just the same. Thanks again!

Very nice beautiful, simple design and wood working. I might copy parts of that design. However that would not last for me, the pedals would get damaged. I really need a hard travel cover too over the top of the pedals.

Looks great. I like the two tone wood and dig the urethane only natural look. Only critique I would have is explaining what you used to hold the pedals down with and your choice of power supply you hid under there. Thanks for the inspiration.
@joacorodriguez34208 жыл бұрын
why don't you use the fence itself to set the width of the cut, instead of the tape? I'm I missing something?
@DIYModernTwins8 жыл бұрын
The maple was binding and grabbing the blade because of the slight curve in the tight grain. This was my solution to a safer cut. I could have just shoved it into the blade, but when the wood starts to lift, it's time to rethink the cut.
@joacorodriguez34208 жыл бұрын
you should put the fence closer to you, so the fence is used on the first half of the blade (the half that is spinning downwards). This way, the wood won't get grabbed between the rear half of blade and the fence, and flying to you

to big for one level / line of pedals, to small for two. you mounted the pedals with tape on the nice board? When you wanna replace it a year later, you will see the marks. also the solution with the power cable is not my favorite (socket would be better in my opinion). The plugs on the rear side have a to different color compared to the board. It is a really really nice hand work ... really, but not perfect premeditated. sorry, Iam to german :(

I was able to create the board, I like it. I like how his pedals are cleanly wired. I am interested in how this board is wired. I noticed the transformer is wrapped with electrical tape together with each pedal's DC wire. Is this a special wiring job? It looks like there was a modification to the transformer. If so where could I get this done? I like Lucky's board everything about it is clean and streamlined. Appreciate any recommendations you could give me. Thanx!

I plan on designing a pedalboard unit utilizing an old school wooden Coca~Cola case crate with an added latch cover. The latch cover won't only protect the units contained within the unit, it will also provide me with the opportunity to find a balance point for the entire unit so I can find where I need to place a carrying handle. In essence, it will kinda end up looking like a briefcase, but it will be showing the Coca~Cola logo.

What secures the pedals to the board? Unless I missed something, I don't see what keeps the pedals from shifting when the board is carried by the handle. The tension from the patch cables doesn't seem sufficient.

Wait.. why use a piece of masking tape and keep the cutoffs (from the left of the blade)? Why not just set the fence the correct distance from the blade and keep the part of the work piece you're pushing against the fence? Isn't it better to register with pressure against a fence than with eyeballing a piece of tape?
@DIYModernTwins8 жыл бұрын
Good point Jason. Yes you can do just that. I'm sorry I didn't explain it better in the video: A't the time, since I would just be pushing a 3/4" piece through against the fence and the maple was binding a bit when I cut a test piece, I felt it was safer to do it with the tape and trying to be as accurate as possible, resetting the fence each time. As you can see in the video, the last piece was cut just using the fence and pushing that 3/4" piece through. It would work either way. If the wood is binding at all, this is a safer way to cut those pieces.
@Cyan20028 жыл бұрын
If you are experiencing binding, it might be worth making sure your blade and fence are parallel.

Thanks for the video and plans. I'm not complaining, but some of the dimensions on the plans aren't correct as drawn. For example, the height of the rear piece is shown to be 3". The actual measure of the print is 2 7/8". I would advise re-drawing the plan using the given dimensions if you want to build this. I built one this week and it turned out nice. I made mine 24" long to accommodate a looper pedal and A/B switch. I'm subscribed to your channel and look forward to more woodworking stuff of a musical nature. thx.

I made my own pedal board by cutting a section of wooden skid/pallet with a hack saw, then I cut two pieces to raise the front from the scrap wood, pounded out four nails from the section of scrap I wasnt using to nail the blocks to raise the front. The I applied black tape all around it and tie strapped a power bar to it. I did this at work with only the tools and material available to me. Hence why I had to reuse the nails.

Hello, very interesting and instructive video. I want to become a pedalboard and I liked the design you did. I could say, what are the measures of the pedalboard? That these measures will vary depending on the number of pedals and other things, but my pedals are few (four) and the pedalboard is what I need. Look drawings on your page and not find them. Thanks, greetings from Cucuta-Colombia. P.S. Excuse my bad english. P.D. Disculpen mi mal ingles.

Hola Juan! I'm not sure what the exact measurements were, I don't have the pedalboard and I can't find my notes :-( But I think it was about 3" tall in the back, 1 1/2" tall in the front, about 8" deep, and about 17" wide. The best thing to do it lay out your pedals with at least 1" in between and add at least 1" to either end.

I don't recommend becoming a pedalboard. People stomp on you all night, they sometimes spill beer on you, and the pay is lousy.
