I hope this comment helps anyone looking at Traffic Master flooring at Home Depot. DO NOT BUY IT FOR ANY ROOM, NO MATTER THE TRAFFIC FLOW. Pay close attention to the MIL layer, the thicker the better.

@@DIYPowerCouple I don’t know what to buy! I currently have vinyl flooring that’s over 20 years old!! I tried looking but my kitchen floor is uneven. A subfloor and new vinyl planks might work for now.

There's also the option of peel and stick vinyl planks that you can apply on top of the old vinyl.

I just had HD out to measure for flooring. The home I recently purchased has hardwood in the living and entryway, but carpet in the bedrooms, and sheet vinyl in the kitchen and baths. I want to put luxury vinyl planks in the areas that don't have hardwood. So would the life proof be good for kitchen and baths. I want some consistency in the rest of my home.

Lifeproof or any plank with a 12mil wear layer or higher would work. 😊

Planks can give you a new floor without putting sticky adhesive on your current one.

Question, when you buy them in store are all the edges intact? We've been ordering online and they always arrive with the corners chipped and the edges damaged by getting bumped so the locking edges flatten out.... Is this normal and should I install them as they are?;
@DIYPowerCouple5 ай бұрын
In store planks can have the same issue, just not as often. You can still use them if the top layer is in tact. Sometimes you may have to hammer them together because they wont "click" lock as easily. Hope this helps!

Wonding if any of these products are good for a 2nd level game room. Because I didn't see anything about sound barrier
@DIYPowerCouple Жыл бұрын
We suggest an underlayment on the 2nd floor even though the planks have an under pad. This video can explain more - kzbin.info/www/bejne/naHHg4V-r8aVeKcsi=tfysM8S12YGo321s
@3rdGenFireChicken8 ай бұрын
You do not need any sound proofing underneath it because it is attached to each individual plank. But if you do install it in a basement I suggest you install a 6 mil poly plastic under the floor to protect from moisture. I install vinyl plank for a living so this information I’m giving you is all professional guidelines. I’m not a DIY guy. I do one thing and do it very well and it’s vinyl plank I do everyday all day.

No offense guys you’re a DIY couple you don’t install this type or any type of vinyl plank enough to make a valid opinion of it. Just because you install it once or twice does not make you an expert to tell people what too buy
@cregxy6 ай бұрын
Lol everything they said was accurate...your comment would make sense if they said something that was inaccurate...
@3rdGenFireChicken6 ай бұрын
@@cregxy wrong because all the vinyl plank does not hide imperfections and never need floor prep. You just can’t take any vinyl plank and just sweep and vacuum the floor and install. If you have a plywood subfloor and the joints are uneven you need to belt sand them down and if you have a crown in the concrete it’s easier to grind it rather than level the whole floor genius
@cregxy6 ай бұрын
@3rdGenFireChicken lol clearly they were talking about small imperfections...genius. your comment was silly bro. I'm starting my 3rd flip this year and I've seen it all. The general diy info they gave was accurate lol...grow up.
@gavinsnyder56273 ай бұрын
Your comment just seems unnecessary and rude. Yes they are DIYers but they're giving their input on their experience with flooring. No it's probably not 10+ years of experience but in some ways that's good because they likely run into the same issues as other DIYers. (Who are likely the people watching their videos) It's basically a review and comparing of products. Simply explaining things like cost comparisons an difficultly installing. All of which are precisely the type of things most DIYers are interested in. What information did they say that bothered you? I'm pretty certain you're just being a douche and this is your way to feel better about yourself. I don't usually comment on much but it just amazes me how people can be so rude to others who are simply trying to provide information to people. There's essentially no reason for your comment. Their video has just what I'd assume it would.....A DIY couples experience an opinion with vinyl plank flooring. I hope they don't take your words to heart. They're just sharing their experience for the benefit of others. What's the issue? Maybe think about the purpose and source of the video before making comments that honestly just don't make sense. They basically provided information that most people can find out them selves. The point is to usually to not find some of these things out afterwords. So people come to videos or threads like these when considering similar stuff.
@3rdGenFireChicken3 ай бұрын
@@gavinsnyder5627 they also mislead a lot of people that it’s easy to do. And I doubt they have run into issues that I have with challenges of installing and floor prep
