Do you put them an ice bath to stop any cooking process during cleaning?
@DIYQUEENDIVA Жыл бұрын
No. I've never used ice. The only thing I use to clean my apples: lemon juice, baking soda, and salt. This keeps my apples green on the inside and it strips the wax off the apples. Stripping the wax allows you to make pretty candy apples. Here's my tv series on my candy apple cleaning method - kzbin.info/aero/PLSve20__OpxHn2jrfGgn4H_zj7MSckuWR&si=EpNdglwVPu_0vUM4 I hope this helps you.💕

When you get to the bottom and it's too hard to dip the apples in the remaining mix, do you just have to throw that mix out and start over? You can't add it to a new batch of syrup?
@DIYQUEENDIVA2 ай бұрын
Hi! Some people reheat it by adding water and letting it reach back to 300 degrees. You can certainly add it to another batch. In my experience I don’t do reheating because the second time around it has a slightly burnt taste. I’m assuming because it’s been cooked to 300 degrees twice. I hope this helps you.💕

Can u use this candy to glaze donuts..

I wouldn’t use it as a glaze because it’s candy.

How do you avoid the bubbles on the top, the ones close to the stick?
@DIYQUEENDIVA Жыл бұрын
Great question! When inserting the straws and sticks into the apples, juice pops out the apple. If that area is not cleaned and wiped down before dipping in the candy mixture this can cause bubbles.💕

Can you package the candy apples the same day you dipped them?? How long do you need to wait to package them
@kiaramilla990 Жыл бұрын
Same goes for caramel apples. Can I dip and package on the same day and how long should I wait in between?
@DIYQUEENDIVA Жыл бұрын
Package your candy apples as soon as you’re finished dipping your last candy apple.💕
@DIYQUEENDIVA Жыл бұрын
Yes, you package your caramel apples on the same day using candy apple boxes. You do not want to use the candy apple bags because your caramel may stick to the bags. Let the caramel dry in which it comes up off your parchment paper without sticking. Then you can box them. I hope this helps you. Have a good day.💕

You got this! I'm so glad I could help, but I think you should practice today and make sure you have cleaned your apples properly so the candy and caramel can stick. Have you already cleaned your apples using the candy apple method?💕

How long do you leave your apples to sit after dipping them with this cleaning process? I dip in a baking soda and water mixture and left them sit for 48 hrs before dipping. Can you dip the same day with your process?
@DIYQUEENDIVA Жыл бұрын
24-48 hours. You did right letting them sit 48 hours as long as you wiped them down about 3-4 times during that wait period. I use my cleaning method with the lemon juice to assure my apples will remain green on the inside for a long period of time. My best advice about same day candy apples is DON’T DO IT…lol.💕

How do you keep the thermometer from touching the bottom? Mine always goes to the bottom no matter what I do.
@DIYQUEENDIVA Жыл бұрын
You’re supposed to have a clip on the back of it to attach to the pot. If it keeps sliding down with the clip, you have worn that thing out. Just replace it when you can. Until then just work with it. I’ve done that numerous of times and was fine until I replaced mine. Actually I had to take my clip off during this tutorial because the clip kept sliding down in the candy. I have to replace mine this week. However to be honest, in my opinion these metal candy thermometers are the only ones that works well for candy apples.😂💕
@avanjackson2562 Жыл бұрын
I realized that the clip was bent. It works perfectly now

@DIYQUEENDIVA Жыл бұрын
You mentioned earlier in the premiere, you only cooked your candy apple mixture to 250 degrees, right? Make sure you cook your candy to 300 degrees, and have patience until it reaches to 300 degrees. You can do it. You got this!💕

😂😂😂 Sounds like your candy is extremely hot and need to let your bubbles settle before dipping. I wonder if your stove or stove top gets hotter than normal? Let me ask are you using a gas stove or electric?

What is your suggestion when making caramel apples. They always stick to the sides of the bag. Do you think spraying Cooking spray inside of the bag would keep it from sticking to the caramel apples 😊
@DIYQUEENDIVA Жыл бұрын
Nawwww! Don’t spray no cooking spray in there.😂😂😂 Don’t use those cellophane treat bags for caramel apples either. Use the candy apple boxes so your caramel apples won’t stick. I always use the boxes for caramel apples. I have the ones I use in my Amazon bake shop.💕
