The best recipe for snow globe glitter is 60%water 40% glycerin. Works every Time also if you wanted to you can substitute 10% water for isopropyl alcohol with will kind of stop the water from ‘going off’.

best glitter?
@glittergoldandglam25 күн бұрын
@@kennedyterence4209 The best kind of glitter depends on how you want it to fall. The smaller the glitter, then slower the fall rate. Hope that helps.

Wonder if pure mineral oil would work better than baby oil? (It’s the base ingredient). It’s possible the fragrance and additives in baby oil are the cause of surface adhesion. Lastly, mineral oil can be further thinned with mineral spirits.
@glittergoldandglam9 күн бұрын
I haven't tried pure mineral oil but that's a great idea. I'll definitely have to experiment with that. Thanks for the suggestion!

You said if we mix the glycerin with water it’ll get extremely cloudy? So does adding the alcohol prevent that? Or do you mean regular water and not distilled?
@glittergoldandglam2 ай бұрын
If you mix the glycerin with water, the whole thing will get cloudy, even if you add alcohol to it. I hope that's what you are asking. Let me know if it's not. Thanks for watching.

@@glittergoldandglamthe last perfect mixture is glycerin water and alcohol right...and it's not cloudy...sry if I'm wrong...I'm working a snowy globe project...I'm just trying to find out...what mixture I should use

@@johnssaju9808 I am not really sure, but I said it in the video. One of them was not cloudy at all.
@mlwm7Ай бұрын
I'm confused too. I thought you said in the video that either blend of glycerin/water/alcohol OR glue/water/alcohol settled clear and fell slow. The video had both jars compared at about 5 min into the video. You also said earlier not to mix glycerin and water or alcohol because it turns cloudy, but it didn't seem to at the 5-minute demo. ?? Love this video! Thanks for doing all this and showing the comparisons!
@glittergoldandglamАй бұрын
@@mlwm7 Yeah, I just went back and rewatched it. The glycerin made it cloudy. I know it doesn't really look like it in the video, but compared to the clarity of the other ones, adding the glycerin to any of the formulas made them cloudy. I hope that answers your questions.

what kind of glue and what was the ratios?
@glittergoldandglam25 күн бұрын
The glue was Darice clear glue and in this video when I was showing the glue one, it was just straight glue and glitter. Hope that helps.

Does it need to be distilled water? Can you use drinking water or faucet water?
@glittergoldandglam6 ай бұрын
You can use whatever water you want, but distilled water is the only one that won't end up with mold in it. Hope that helps.

@@glittergoldandglam Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
@glittergoldandglam6 ай бұрын
@@joybrig You are more than welcome. Trust me, I used to make everything with just regular filtered tap water, but then it would always end up smelling king of moldy. I read something in a blog once talking about how distilled water was the only way to make something basically ‘shelf stable’ so it wouldn’t mold. I switched and never looked back. It’s a great trick.
