Awesome stuff! I use to live just over the hill in San Mateo 15 years ago and I had no idea about salmon out there in HMB. I use to catch striper and halibut around Foster City in my youth. Cool video

Thanks man! It depends on what depth I’m trying to get to. I would recommend using a buddy behind you with a fish finder at first so you can get a general idea of depth for how much line you have out

Nice, well I would recommend getting out there and putting time on the water. You’ll get one soon enough! I was only 20ft down in this video and I usually go a few miles out

Question, what state are u fishing in? How many rods can u use? And what is the limit?

I’m in California, and you can only use one rod for salmon here with a limit of 2 king salmon

Thanks, it’s nice to be back out there! I switched from a 7’ to an 8’. It feels like it has a better mix of backbone/bend for how I want to fish for salmon but it’s also a bit more difficult to net the fish with the extra foot

Awesome fish! How do you know what depth your diver is at? I'm always confused by amount of line out to depth. Thanks! (Don't generally have someone to check with a finder for me)

Hey thanks! Honestly there’s so many variables (line type, size of dd6/speed/drift) it really takes experience and is more of an art than a science. I have a rough estimation of where I’m at based on all the variables but a line counter and a friend with a FF greatly improves the learning curve!
