Que lindo video. A mi juicio el más grande y carismático músico de Jazz. Gillespie, como visionario quería difundir el jazz a todos los estratos sociales y no dejarla como una forma de expresión para unos pocos, algo que deberían entender muchos.

Both were super, Ed just pieced together a better "story" with his solo, and kept the theme of the tune, while GB was all over the place, probably from being self conscious that another brilliant guitarist was on the stage. Happens all the time.

I love these performances from back in the day! They’re always a jewel and amazing to listen to and observe. George Benson is an incredible guitarist! It’s always incredible to watch how he interacts with the other musicians. He’s not afraid to back up everyone. You always see him paying attention to the other members and playing accordingly so as to not play over them and allow them to display their talents. But when it comes time for him to solo, he absolutely kills it every time! Love his face at 10:05 too😂 Bass solo was sick too! Had to repeat 12:08-12:16 like 4 times. That’s cool that even the bassist got to display his talent as well. Don’t see that happen that often. Great performance.

Great solos. But for me just the rhythm playing of Benson is pretty much staggering. His solo is top shelf. The drummer wins by getting ready for the gig, looking in his wardrobe for a while and go: Yes, this is the right gig for me to wear those sunsignal, butter yellow-pants my grandma bought me for x-mas!

A Night in Tunisia seems to be the ultimate relation tell-all. It seems like when they each play their solo, you can almost hear them describing their relationship with whoever. @chumleyshaver79422 жыл бұрын
What a line up! Hard to believe but my hero George almost seemed a little intimidated on that stage, his solo sounding a bit choked compared to his usual effortless flowing lines, and even rarer to see George then get sorta semi-smoked by another guitarist on the same stage. George's big smile at the end of Ed's solo though shows what a magnanimous gentlemen he is, and as someone else said here, still the best with nothing to prove - if even on an off night.
