The WDR BIG BAND plays "Groovin High" (composer: Dizzy Gillespie; arrangement: Bill Holman) under the direction of Stefan Pfeifer-Galilea. Solos are played by Ben Fitzpatrick on tenor saxophone and Andy Hunter on trombone. Produced as part of the series "WDR BIG BAND FROM THE ARCHIVE" at WDR Studio 4 / Cologne (February 2023).

Damn... I have been listening to this band for years, digging the hell out of this band, BUT This... An absolutely Brilliant arrangement from one of the great arrangers of all time, Bill Holman. Yet another killer performance by the WDR Big Band, whose catalog of great recordings is above and beyond. Of course, add to said brilliance, the totally slamming solo work by Hans Dekker, Andy Hunter, and Ben Fitzpatrick (really coming into his own as a soloist in this band), and I am in awe of the greatness of this band.... Bravissimo, and great thanks to one and all ...!
