In this clip, Vlad started off by saying that he didn’t see a problem with Ma$e signing Fivio Foreign for $5,000 because he was an unknown artist at the time. DJ Akademiks explained that he had a deal with a label to sign artists, and he revealed that he hit up his lawyer about possibly signing Fivio Foreign. When Akademiks found out that Fivio was signed to Ma$e and wasn’t going to sign Fivio for anything less than $1 million. DJ Akademiks then explained how Ma$e helped Fivio secure a $1.5 million deal with Columbia, of which Fivio got $750,000 in the 50/50 deal. He then pointed out that Fivio is required to give Ma$e 50% per their deal, and there is contention as the amount gets bigger.

It’s basically like you going for a job interview. You get hired . You get paid a salary of lets just say 3k a week and then you find out the company makes 300k a week directly off of the work you were hired to do. The job is fair and the pay is whats been agreed upon but when the worker(fivio) finds out how much the company (mase) is making then there’s this unjustifiable but understandable resentment. Im a contractor and i have employees. I try my best to not let the cost of the project reach my employees because while they’re paid a fair wage it would seem unfair to them if they got a look at the bottom line

They'll say "I'm getting screwed because my company takes 99 percent of what I sell and I get 1 percent" but okay, you only could sell that stuff cuz that company spent millions building that building, paying all the bills with it like lights and electricity, hiring mad people to do things that don't make them money like janitors and security, paying hundreds of thousands of dollars in advertising so that those customers actually come to you... and that's not even counting the fact that if a company pays you 20 an hour, when you factor in health insurance, unemployment insurance, etc you cost that company WAY more than 20 an hour... business is expensive. I used to be #2 salesman I'm the country for one of the largest telecommunications companies. We could see what we earned them. I made them 12 to 18 million a year and I earned 100k average. Mase comes to sign Jaydee (another BK rapper) but Jaydee told Mase, sign Fivio and my his friend to a rap collective. So he gave all 3 5k each. Fivio gets a hit, now is able to sign a better deal, Mase gets 50% since he discovered and brokered the deal for Fivio. How is this wrong?

No one put a gun to fivio's head and made him signed, he should of did his due diligence. But he was in a vulnerable place with few options. He should of read the contract before getting big and feeling resentful because he has to split his money with Mase. So if Fivio signs a 10 million dollar deal, Mase gets 5 off top. Fivio has only 5 million out of 10 to pay everyone he owes. Mase gets to have 5 to himself since he isnt the artist, he is the investor so their will always be some kind of side eye coming from Fivio when it comes to Mase.

Rappers actually work 9 to 5 jobs they just don’t realize it because their salary is more then what the regular 9 to 5 guy makes.. they think their in control of their career but they have bosses like everyone else.
