The agreement between them was not conditional to Babu being proven guilty. It was also not conditional to continuation of the case. Indeed, it presumed that the DJ would not pursue the case any further. So termination of the case has no bearing on how the agreement between them was to be executed. Stop jumping into topics whose background you know nothing about. That was a closed matter between the two. The state is just wasting it's time and resources in pursuing a closed matter.

You know nothing about the history of this case. Babu and the DJ signed an agreement of civil nature whereby Babu was to take care of his bills and the DJ was to withdraw the case. With that agreement the DJ (not Babu!) applied to withdraw the case. The court scrutinized that agreement but insisted on its being registered in court. There was no reference to Babu's being innocent or guilty. DPP had no objection to the DJs application to withdraw the case. It was therefore a waste of public funds for the DPP to apply for re-opening of the file, yet the two parties primarily involved in the case had agreed on the best way forward So that agreement remains enforceable regardless of the outcome of the case, but subject to the DJ not pursuing the case. Babu is obliged to meet his side of the bargain as per the terms contained in the agreement they had signed prior to withdrawal of the case earlier on. It is the office of the DPP that is continuing to falter and stumble as it always does when under direction of political forces.

That would in itself be another case (civil case) seeking compensation with uncertain outcomes. The deal he struck with Babu for compensatory justice is what has enabled him to receive support from Babu. The earlier court that accepted to have the case against Babu be withdrawn upon application by the DJ, was satisfied that the terms in the agreement were sound and took care of the DJs interests. You can't sensibly discuss the current case before you acquiant yourself with the case that was withdrawn earlier upon application by the DJ.

Exactly! Even the same malleable DPP had no objection when the DJ applied to have the case withdrawn from court. Now he is bending over to the wishes of the new political leadership and misusing his office to open a file that the court had closed and to which he had no objection. Office of the DPP is just a source of shame and embarrassment.

He didn't ask you to wish him quick recovery. If you QR wishes were due to your personal dislike for Babu, then keep them to yourself. Apart from pretending to be "wailing more than the bereaved" what better solution do you have for the DJ? In this matter the DJs interests supercede societal interests. Punishing Babu per se will not make his life more comfortable.
