Got this gem on A CD compilation and I was floored and elevated at the same time when I 1st heard it. This connects on so many levels. Pure perfection, imo 💯 x 💯

In the mid 90's a bunch of us ran club nights with live acts, DJ's, performers and decor. When we got our fifth demo tape starting with this track from five very different DJ's we gave in and made it a theme tune. It is an almost perfect starting point for any DJ set and can be taken anywhere.

A golden age for electronic music. This is sort of random but I liken Fila Brazilia to the production of Everything But The Girl's "Temperamental". Listened in retrospect I feel as though this music isn't weighed down by what would emerge throughout the 2000's- a kind of heaviness I can't articulate completely.
