Came for Ortiz, and left aware of a bunch of CRAZY talent. Everyone killed it. Thank you, Kayslay for putting this record together. Had it on replay all week! Ortiz is the truth tho. Ran into him once when I worked for Sam Ash in Manhattan. He filmed an interview there (right after Nissan Honda Chevy dropped) and he was just a regular dude with a prodigal grip on language and music. I'm just a white dude.. the type that looks like they have harley but don't actually have one.. when Joell walked in (on the phone) I recognized him right away and we made eye contact and I was like "holy shit its ortiz". Once he saw my reaction he told whoever he was talking to "yo let me call you back" hung up was like "what up man.. Joell"..(dude's so real that even tho I recognized him he introduced himself.. that's some old-school NY respect shit)- did the whole BK-hug/pound. Let me pay my respect and compliments. Humble as fuck. Like I said hes a fucking real dude. He came over later btw shoots and started bullshitting with me about some guitars n what-not.. nothing crazy but I'll never forget that shit. I am not saying run up on him expectng this experience if you're all thirsty and shit trying to take up his time like he owes it to you; but I thought it was dope how human he was cus shit, I had just got into his work the summer before.. so to me he was at that "larger than life" shit in my head..
