the issue with claiming any white pride is because everyone including white ppl think your now KKK, just being proud of yourself while being white is like instant cancel. I think all racists should suffer but I fear for mistakes.

In songs like this I don't think Tom is talking about everyday real people like you guys or me but he's talking about the media and politicians who regurgitate the same BS all day every day. Keep up the good work and keep the conversation going.

Another great reaction from ya'll thank you! This song was my very first introduction to Tom. My husband came home from work and said listen to this dude my boss just showed me and it started to play and I paused it right away and asked "What the HELL is that?" 😲 I fell in love and haven't stopped listening since and love him and Nova more and more with each new drop! Also, of course true HOG GANG don't get rubbed the wrong way about anyone's opinion and we respect everyone's opinion unless they are totally disrespectful to our guy Tom or our own opinions! #DMTV #HOG4LIFE #HOGFAM

18:13 I appreciate that he is feeling pain I can absolutely hear it in his voice. But he doesn’t know that no cops ever had to fight to live and I mean before they became cops. And there are thousands of cops whose kids been left with no daddy. Open dialogue is so important from all sides so we can see many of us have shared experience. Thank you for the new to me song

Y'all are doing great and I'm glad you aren't just saying what you think we all want to hear. As for Lil Russell, I felt the pain in that young mans voice and my heart goes out to y'all for the things you've had to endure because of your skin color. It will be through people like Tom Macdonald, Lil Russell and others like them who give a voice to the bigotry & injustice that permeates our society. Tom Macdonald has a song called "If I Was Black" that speaks on the same things Lil Rusell speaks of. Peace Out!

this is 100% true. Race is a social construct. Period. We are all related in DNA - which cannot differentiate a black man from a white man. The only difference is the amount of melanin. That is it. And that is just an evolutionary human thing to protect skin from the sun based on their place of origin (relation to how close to the equator/son).

I have voiced my opinion to the cops over it more than once 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 my son is a good kid who never gets in trouble and always helps those in need. My family is biracial and we live in Tennessee, in the country and we don't have that problem here. I've never met an outwardly racist person let alone a cop. I'm not saying they don't exist, just that I haven't met one. I'm also not saying that I support all cops, I knew there are some bad cops out there but they typically treat everyone like shit, including white people. It's a power trip, I honestly don't the the skin color matters to most of the bad ones. We need serious police reforms and a lot of their power needs to be taken back.

5:08 when I was in elementary school, The teachers taught us that it was racist to call a black person black and that we had to say African American. So everyone was stuck with saying African American and then about 10 years later it suddenly became ok and not racist to say black. An now no one says African American and they say black.

ikr that has to be frustrating. all my life in school i was told i was African American. which is crazy to me bc my mom is 100% native american my dad is black but his grandparents were from Israel. when im with my family i see Latinos, native Americans, Israelites, etc (But no Africans) then get to school and told my story started in African. i used to be confused like how am i from Africa but my Grandparents are telling me all these great stories about my native American ancestors. How can I consider myself African American when my dad parents (my other grand parents) are telling me about growing up American. but when i get to school i get in trouble for saying i dont want to be called African American

I just came upon your channel tonight. I first watched your reaction to "Best Rapper Ever". My first thought is I appreciate your reaction because you don't just 100% agree with everything he (Tom) says... I love Tom and his videos don't get me wrong... But you stand out amongst the reaction KZbinrs because you give dialogue rather than just saying " I love Tom" and leaving it at that... On the 2nd young man.. The 20 shots video... I listened BECAUSE you captured me with your Tom reactions... He is giving HIS perspective. He has obviously experienced some pain.... I hope he can understand that some of the police officers don't make it home either.. That Donald Trump didn't MAKE the worlds problems... And that there are people of all skin colors that live in fear all over the world... America has FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS... You in American you're blessed... But he makes us feel his pain in the world he lives in... And that is important for an artist.. Thank you DJ Mann... I appreciate you.. I'm subscribing to your channel friend...

I got a story for ya, at 14 I had a after school job, one day after work I was skateboarding down to my bank to cash my paycheck and I was lit up by local pd. The officer stated I matched the description of someone who robbed another bank four blocks away, in my mind I'm thinking " some 14 year old kid in blue jeans on a skateboard just robbed a bank? Kids a G" but I just showed him my ID and My paycheck told him I was going to my bank but I still was detained for 15 min. Now I know that if I had a different skin color I may not have even got the chance to explain my story, but it also shows that police training is lacking .

To the perspective of the second song and what you guys were talking about at the end. I think the reason people say its all propaganda and narratives isn't because it they don't believe it is a reality people deal with, it is because by the time it hits the internet and TV it's immediately twisted to fit somebody else agenda. Then people get so worked up arguing with each other that nobody actually goes back and looks at what caused these situations in the first place. I've lived both ends of the spectrum. I grew up with cops in my family, but also have been damn near homeless in the hood.. so i've really really seen it all, and honestly each perspective has an element of truth to it. At its core I think the root of the cycle comes down to is politicians making promises they don't intend on keeping, and too many people put blind faith in them. It's like letting the fox watch the hen house. For some reason society as a whole believes we can trust people in government to solve problems that they created in the first place. When in reality they are going to push the blame onto something else, like crime rates, or the police, or not enough social programs, but they will never never second guess the actual laws, regulations, and taxes on the books that limit peoples upward mobility. It's all a scheme to convince people that the system is looking out of your best interests, when in reality they are just trying to protect their own position of power. Everything beyond that is really just a ripple effect... it just happens to be a ripple effect that is devastating to the people it hits last.

@@djmanntv Cheers bro. Thats totally cool. I'm def speaking in more broad stokes more, and not to specific incidents and interactions. I think that the individual situations that arise are essentially symptoms of the bigger problem that people in bigger cities don't really feel any sense of ownership in their own communities. Anyway, love chillin and listening to what you guys have to say. Great content for sure!

Letting people convince us that we all have to think the same and we all have to be the same or we have to be enemies. It’s part of the problem. You don’t have to agree with each other. You just have to have respect for each other. Many times if you have respect for the person you’re talking to and you actually listen you might see the validity and what they’re saying and vice versa. You might agree with some but not all but it’s not something that should make your enemies.

Absolutely. I'm white - i am not "proud of being white" as it is not an accomplishment I had any control over. At the same point I'm not ashamed of it either. I am proud to be an American however - because that is something I choose to do freely. If I wasn't, I know I could leave and go elsewhere. I may not be proud or agree with everything in the country's history, but I am proud to be part of the greatest nation on Earth - the one nation that every other nation has people wanting to come to freely. I do show pride in my nationality (American) and my ancestral heritage (Scandinavian/Norse) - just as your friend does for her Italian heritage.

The race issue: Tom mentions the whites in his song "Exposure" and a great one is "Straight White Male". Tom lived in the hood for quite awhile and he was the only white guy around. His neighbors were die-hard, serious all pro black and Tom had asked a few of these guys over to run the song Whiteboy by them. They did go and listened and told him was very risky but they didn't object and told Tom many would probably think him racist even though they understood his meaning. After Tom asked them why, one of the group explained with this old analogy: If he and some of the guys were hanging around and they see a white guy walking towards them their thinking is if there is a basket full of snakes they don't have the time to put their hand in there to find the one that isn't poisonous so they will see you first as racist until you prove differently. Tom also wrote a song "If I Was Black" from the outlook of many from the hood but he knows not all blacks view the world the same. Check these songs out. Not all his songs are political. He did meet up with some Black Panther guys but we can't forget that he is a white guy that grew up in a Canadian town where racism was almost non-existent so as he said when he first came to the States this was quite a culture shock. He just posted an interview he did on the Blair White Project channel . Blaire White is a transwoman who was also in Tom's video "Snowflakes". As for that final song on here : I can really feel his pain and can understand his mistrust. I'm sorry for what he or those around him have gone through and still are. I would be terrified to go in districts run by gangs. If all we are shown are blacks killing mainly other blacks run by drugs and guns imagine the child being raised all around that mentality and never mind if he/she has a good parent hopefully both parents the chances are slim to not be affected by this in some way. Now send in the cops who don't want to go there because of the violence (they are human) so after seeing this violence and death so many times how do you think those cops are going to feel or think on their next call? I'm not condoning police violence in any way, shape or form but yes there are some racist cops (both black & white ones) and look at the BLM riots. We all say there should not be racism but anyone who honestly thinks it will be eradicated is only fooling themselves because it not only exists here but some Africans fight over the tint of there blackness. It exists in every country so as long as there are different cultures there will be some form of racism. You might be able to control their actions but not their thinking. We have to live with both wolves inside of ourselves (good and bad) and the leader will be the one you feed the most (Native-American saying). You asked for our opinion so your fault if this is so freaking long🐺 so feed the good one.🙂🤙🏽🤟🏽✌🏽

There is currently a lot of white shaming going on...a lot! I don't have pride for my or any other 'race', but reallyappreciatemany cultures. I have pride in the individual, because only the individual has control over their own actions and reactions. I treat everyone with respect regardless of race, religion, politics, etc. Thus refuse to participate in ANY race, religion, etc shaming!

Much love and respect for you two, but Im genuinely curious about some things. You guys say you have no problem with other races being proud of their race/heritage and celebrating it, but how would you react to a White Pride month being celebrated? More controversial yet, how does it make you guys feel when you see a Confederate flag and what are your opinions on it and those that fly it? These are just a couple things I really want to hear your side on, because I love TALKING to people from other walks of life. Hearing their thoughts, feelings, experiences, opinions, etc. As Americans we have lost the ability to do that, to talk openly, honestly, to LEARN from each other, even to respectfully agree to disagree. I grew up in a poor white family and my views and experiences may be very different than yours, but we also might have a lot in common as well.

Man thanks for the kind words and I really have a lot to say on those matters. I personally don't have an issue with a white pride month, but what exactly would it be celebrating (not saying there's nothing to celebrate) just curious about exactly what would be celebrated? I would love for you to call the number In my comment pinned at the top of the comment section so we can discuss this on our podcast Thursday. I have a lot to say but it's way too much to type lol

Thanks for sharing the other song. It is very deep and profound. I don't envy anyone who has to go through some shit like that. At the end of the day though - we can't get anywhere until we ask and address the "why" . Why is he in a position or have a perspective where this type of sentiment is said? If your (i don't me "you" specifically - I mean "your" in the colloquial sense) go-to answer is "cops are racist" or "cops just want to kill (insert minority of person talking here) people" then that is where we diverge from agreement. There are many facts and statistics readily available that disproves that notion. Most people don't care to research them. They just regurgitate what the woke news or community leaders spew out to keep people divided. There are however statistics that disprove any notion that a specific minority is "gunned down" at a higher rate per encounter with law enforcement. (i'm talking about unarmed unprovoked). In nearly ever situation where an encounter with law enforcement results in the death of a suspect, there is ample evidence available to show the suspect resisted arrest, and/or was violently aggressive and/or was armed. I'm sure this sharing was prompted by the recent young man who got out of his car and was shot to death by several officers on the scene. But the body cam and truthful evidence has been released and clearly shows the shooting as justified. If the young man pulled over, turned off his engine, and showed his license, he would be alive today - true he may be incarcerated if he had warrants and/or had committed a (alleged) crime; but he'd be alive. What I believe is that too often specific communities teach their children, and their constituents' children to fear the police like the boogeyman. I believe they raise their kids on fear porn, making law enforcement out to be the devil. When such people who have been programmed to fear so greatly, a psychological phenomenon occurs that exists in all living things - "fight or flight". I believe that these people act irrationally out of irrational fear and cannot control their anxiety and take irrational actions. What if - just asking.....what IF parents, preachers, and community leaders like Obama, Holder, Sharpton, J. Jackson instead taught young Americans: 1 - make sure your paperwork is in order (license, registration, insurance) 2 - "Put your hands at 10 and 2, and speak respectfully. 3 - if you feel there was something inappropriate in the way an officer looked at, talked at, or treated you - report it to the precinct and take it up with the court. FDR said "We have nothing to fear but fear itself" Do you think if respectful dialogue ensued, and reasonable, rational actions were taken by those who are encountered by police, there would a lot less needless young men being shot, and lot less officers being assassinated. Its worth a try, don't you think? It certainly hasn't been tried yet. What's the worst case scenario in my suggestions? Here are some statistics from the Dept of Justice: 2018 61.5 MILLION residents of age 16+ encountered police Whites (26%) were more likely than blacks (21%), Hispanics (19%), or persons of other races (20%) to experience police contact. There was no statistically signifcant difference in the percentage of whites (12%) and blacks (11%) who experienced police-initiated contact. Hispanics (10%) were less likely than whites (12%) to experience police-initiated contact. Whites (16%) were more likely than blacks (11%), Hispanics (10%), or other persons (11%) to initiate contact with police. Fewer than 1% of members of ANY race or ethnicity had a gun pointed at them during their most recent police-initiated contact or traffic-accident contact As of 2020 update, the Washington Post’s database of fatal police shootings showed 14 unarmed black victims and 25 unarmed white victims in 2019. There were 237 million Americans considered "Caucasian" by the census in 2019 There were 44 million Americans considered "Black" by the census in 2019 According to the FBI, African-Americans accounted for 55.9% of all homicide offenders in 2019, with whites 41.1%, and "Other" 3.0% in cases where the race was known. Black people were 36% of those arrested for serious non-fatal violent crimes (SNVC), including rape, robbery, and aggravated assault. Overall black Americans counted for 33% of all violent crime. (1 in 3), Yet account for only 14% of the population (1 in 7). Meanwhile whites account for 60% of the population (5 times as many), and account for 39% of crime (just slightly more), So to break it down, despite being 4.5 times more likely to commit crime, 14 unarmed blacks were shot in 2019 vs 25 whites. This is not the factual and fair info you will get from the heavily slanted and partisan mainstream media. It is also worth mentioning: unarmed black shooting victims is down 63% from 2015, where the year before was at all time high during Obama administration. These numbers continued to decline every year while Trump was president. Not espousing a causality and effect - just a correlated statistic. But we should not call it quits here. There is work to be done. As a cultural anthropologist, we must take these facts and then ask "WHY?" Why is there is a disproportion amount of crime committed by one race/ethnicity, resulting in more encounters with police. It's not because cops are racist. It's not because white people are racists. But there ARE reasons that all contribute to this. The #1 leading cause is most likely that 70% of black Americans grow up without a father in their home (nuclear family). So why is this? The #1 leading cause is most likely because of the welfare bills put forth by Pres. L.B. Johnson which married women (specifically minority women) to the government with handouts and welfare IF and ONLY IF there is no man in the house. The destruction of the nuclear family brought out by the welfare system has no doubt impacted the black community to an overwhelming handicap. "If a young man doesn't have a strong male role-model in the house, he's gonna find one on the streets, and the justice system becomes your mom" -Denzel Washington

If that doesn't make you fear for your life then nothing will. Also he said we only March but left out the 2 billion in fires and damage left in the wake. Not to mention the people killed during g the peaceful protests. This is what makes it seem like propaganda.
