It's a custom vinyl record and normally a dmc participant or champion that uses said custom record has memorized where to place the needle to complete their routine.

custom records or not, this depends on every dj's skill. but there must be some kind of limit. there must be dj's that use "out of the record shop" records out there who can spin it with the wheels of steel
