As I practically get lost in another world while vibing to this awesome creation, nearly ready to astral project from how In the Zone I am, everything comes back to me as I am thrown back into reality and forced to hear the words of a wannabe DJ who actually asks the obvious question, "Sick music, is that an actual Live DJ Mix or a Production from a Virtual Studio to create that Mix? Either way, it's pretty good, I do some DJing myself. Not quite that good though, but I play around and have fun"... So, let me get this straight... As I was just about to cross through into another dimension, only because of the wormhole that opened up in my mind due to Dj Ravine's GodLike Mixing Capabilities and UnMatchable Skillz, as I entered a meditative state from the relaxing and therapeutic effects of this perfect mix that was put together for us all to enjoy.. Apparently, I had not given off enough social cues with my eyes closed, head leaning against a wall, periodically and rhythmically swaying to the beat ever so slightly but not enough that I would disturb my relaxed state... These signs were not enough to suggest that I was not in any way inviting someone to strike up a random conversation just to begin with an obvious question only to lead into a self-centered attempt to receive attention and become the subject of discussion and somehow receive some type of congratulations or praise because they, "Dabble" with beginner DJ Equipment.. Now, I literally have to be polite and not ruin my trip after being interrupted, ruining my vibe, and totally throwing me out of the lucid and awesome state of mind I was in.. Pardon me if I was not so enthusiastic. I didn't really think it to be so rude when I responded with... Oh, it's DJ Ravine... He's a very skilled and well-established underground DJ. A pretty amazing Artist IMO..Anyway, what's that you were saying? Somethin' about liking to play around with the programs and stuff, like Virtual DJ? I missed it, I was sorta in a zone when you approached me.. *Wannabe DJ Brags About His Setup* As he talks about how he hopes to hit the scene one day and tour Europe's Rave Scene and visit Holland... Probably unemployed, didn't ask but I didn't get the impression that he was supporting himself, probably lived with his parents... No offense but you're openly asking for my internal judgement when you invite yourself into my space and disrupt my little vibe.. Not to mention, this is happening at an active outdoor get-together with about 150 people in the desert, a local event that is still being setup and has not even started yet. So, like, he's not brought any equipment nor is he going over by the table with gearheads that actually do this type of stuff and who have actively started setting up their equipment and are getting ready to host their own little set... Doesn't offer to help them, talk to them about this passion and his interest in getting into the scene, maybe networking a little bit and potentially setting up a collab/learning session..... Who knows, sometimes people are proactive about getting people involved in the art.. I know I sure woulda appreciated being left alone lol.... So I guess, I was a little sarcastic when I said: Uh huh, *Sarcastically Nodding* That's cool man... (Basically in a cool story bro, kind of tone trying to get back to what I was doing before the vibe is gone) Sooo.. What do you got? Like, what is your current setup? He says: Oh, it's totally legit, It wasn't even expensive. Totally don't even need all the fancy stuff to do what your guy on here does, I could probably do all the same stuff with my setup at home. I just have one of those $200 StreamBook laptops for portability (Probably has never left his house.. Scratch that, parents house), Virtual DJ (Lol free version... Ofc), A used AKAI Pro MPK Mini MK III, and a Numark MixTrack Platinum FX Controller, and that's everything you need to start rocking, besides maybe a good headset and some speakers. So, I guess now he's just automatically as good and as capable as our beloved DJ Ravine here, now that he's ruined my vibe and desperately started drumming up conversation in order to point out the fact that he "Dabbles" with his little at home setup and claims that he now has everything he needs to make quality mixes that sound just as professional as this Mix here... My god, the NERVE >_>
