At 67, I am loving this trip down memory lane. Vinyl lives forever!! I still have my collection of 45s & albums, add in cassettes & cds. You never get rid of or lose track of years worth of collecting. I have my late dad’s vinyl jazz collection, including 78s, dating back to the 40s.

@@scottpearson7264 My condolences to you on the loss of your dad 🙏🏾. Ours must’ve been from the same era. Mine was 90 when he passed in 2018. You couldn’t have said it better......”life was simple & happy”. Your memories of him will always be with you. Music is a great, relaxing way to reminisce days gone by.

@@sunnyd4734 WOW!!......of all female jazz vocal singers to mention. She is my absolute favorite, introduced to her as a child by my dad. Over the years I myself have collected all forms of media by her, plus the vinyl my dad gave me & now I can stream almost anything she ever recorded. Ella Fitzgerald is a very close second in the female category. My top standards male vocalist is old blue eyed himself, Frank Sinatra. They don’t make them like this anymore.

This is the proper way to mix real Disco music, especially 80's disco. Fast, tight mixes. None of those long, sleepy fades. Gotta keep the energy jumping.
@angc14563 жыл бұрын
well it depends .. it´s youtube era... in the old days you didn´t play a song for just 1 minute, right..
@jorgefernandez68532 жыл бұрын
Fases are not meant to be sleepy and actually are much more difficult to do than simply queuing a record and cutting it in. Disco music is melodic and lends itself for awesome riding and fading. That is how it was done originally. Takes a “slow steady hand”
@paulwarren383210 ай бұрын
Well sort of....it's got to be about the music. Disco was always about melody. Early 80s dance music was more about rhythm. Hell, most DJs are impatient anyway and just want to show off :)

You seem to be more worried about what he is using. Rather than what he is doing. Doesn’t matter what set up you use, the DJ still has to select the right song at the right time. Just enjoy the music, if you couldn’t see what he was doing or using to do it. You would still enjoy his mix regardless of the equipment he uses.

As a nightclub dj during the disco era i can attest to the skill required to not only mixing but mixing the right songs and in the right sequence in order to keep the crowd engaged....you got one shot and one shot only to do it right....and it was much harder back then because back then you had a limited selection of songs that you could work with, today you have the entire library.
