This is a rare mix from the scratchmaster DJ SY and the MC ??? recorded on November 1993. In my opinion one of the best OLDSCHOOL set (Jungle, Drum n Bass, early Hardcore) and full of scratching and mixing parts from the one and only DJ SY and in addition a fucking cool MC!! If someone knows some tunes in this set please post the name here, thanx

This music tape (bought in London) was really high discussed around Munich in the middle of the nineties. The one hated this sound but most loved it because this oldschool sound (especially the high level/speed for scratching and mixing) was totally different to the tipical standard techno sound in Germany. This sound, speed & combination (DJ + MC) was unique for the munich techno scene.

Call it what you like. This was breakbeat jungle back in the day. Evolved from earlier 91-92 jungle techno. Eventually evolved into drum and bass. This era of tunes are by far the best imo. 91-95 the best. Bring back this sound.

Oldskool and yes it is hardcore, late 90 to 91 saw the change from house/ acid house into early hardcore, 92 was hardcore, 1993 saw the hardcore scene evolve again into junglistic hardcore which is the era this set is from,94 saw another change where vibes and wishdoctors feel free paved the way 4 more vocalistic tunes through 95 and starting the split between jungle and happy hardcore, by the time hixxys toy town was released in 96 hardcore had become bouncy and named happy hardcore whilst the jungle became a darker sound that we all now know as drum n bass, Sorry 4 the lecture but it's only right people know what there listening KEEP THE VIBE ALIVE!!!

Agree with the description here... the early rave stuff has really stood the test of time and this is belting set from Sy. There are some great memories amidst my hardcore vinyl 1994-1998 and I still dip in occasionally but it largely sounds really naff now. 88-93 was the revolution and is up there as a genre defining and life-changing underground music movement alongside punk.
