Haha this break is so good, we were tearin it up on vinyl in the early 80s, and now there are "how toos" on a laptop... A timeless classic

I wanna be a DJ so bad! Bboying to a beat is the best but actually controlling the beat is probably just as fun if not 10x funner(I know funner isnt a word). This guy is a inspiration to all youngsters like myself.

@combknife I co-sign with this. Don't give us the break and then restart the song.

I'm 54 years old and as ol' school original DJ from Bronx, watching this just makes me pretty sad. Listen, friend, you might be able to bang out the mechanics of DJ'ing but you have a lot to learn about appreciating what this music truly means and why it's timeless. Take my words more like constructive than critical.....You use words like "classic" but can you really appreciate a classic joint like this? At my height I had every know break beat to man and DJ and I can tell with all honesty that I listened to the songs in their entirety in order to fully appreciate the what the song had to offer. I dissected songs much like studio engineers do when remixing and laying down tracks. Songs have much to offer beyond the break! For example, "God Make Me Funky by the Head Hunters" is a famous breakbeat that is one of the funkiest ever made. Most people, because they are like you, don't realize that this joint is great song and worthy of listening to in its entirety. Listening to songs and breaks this way allowed me to become a much better DJ and to otherwise use parts of the song that most DJ's were not using or even thinking about using! Look, no offense, but any dude with two turn tables will eventually be able to play well, but it takes a truly special DJ to go beyond the break portion in order to find greatness. I grew up in a time where I had to ride the bus for 2-hours in order to see guys like Grandmaster Flash battle guys like the Disco Twins! I made my bones and paid my dues and through grit and determination, I eventually made a name for myself. I have seen the great ones and was fortunate enough to play with them many times, so believe me when I say.....No disrespect, homie, but for the record, this song is more hype than you'll ever know! Again, no disrespect, homie. It's just constructive critique, so take my comment and give it whatever value you think it's worth.

Do you have your technics hooked up to a serato? I'm trying to find out how to do that hookup you got. I like digital vinyl as opposed to controllers.

It's a decent song, but it's all about the break. And even the few bars that lead into the break was used by Ultramagnetic MCs. Interesting that the drums are two sets played on top of each other.
