Try Aurora-dx instead of fedora kiniote. Aurora-dx is my primary driver now. I used to daily drive Nixos.

@@CyberGizmo You should stick to where the most listeners are. The rest, like me, can catch up later on KZbin. By the way, enabling the CC (Closed Captures) / SubTitles will help a lot.

Would you like DJ to come over to Your Lordship's house and fluff up the cushions on Your Highness' throne as well? You get this stuff for free, you know - perhaps make more effort on your side to fit in with his times.

Same can be said for a multitude of streams but I doubt you actually contribute and just whine in broken English about time zones.

can viewers ask suggestive questions regarding your use of spouse swap space?
@CyberGizmo2 күн бұрын
Yes absolutely, will include those in the next video I do, but probably not what to do with spouse swap lol

For anyone that missed it, he said it he wants to do these once a month. I joined at the end but it was still super fun

I jumped in and out a couple of times but I thought there were very few good or interesting questions - I think the chat was mostly filled with lazy time-wasters that could have got answers to their "silly" questions just with a few simple online searches. Sure, DJ can run his channel how he wants and he puts out great content, but I admire his tenacity and patience (and of other creators too) when interacting directly with some of his audience. Unfortunately the modern millennial generation has been bereft of an education system that has taught them critical thinking and to read manuals or documents and find answers on their own. If it's not detailed in a "step-by-step" video that they can blindly follow, very few of them are interested in it. Although it saddens me in on respect, it's also fine for an old techie bloke like me because I've not had a day unemployed in over 40 years with no-one of any calibre "coming up through the ranks" to replace me and my problem solving / solution building skills.

Questions: [1] Why isn't there a standard feature in the kernel to allow a user to reboot to the same opened apps? [2] I use 'Systemctl Suspend', and the frekin thing works when it wants, often freezing and requiring a total reboot. Is there a solution?
@terrydaktyllus13202 күн бұрын
1. Because the kernel's job is to provide a communications layer between the system hardware and user space. Applications open and live in user space once the kernel has initialised, therefore it's not the kernel's responsibility to control them. If anything would control apps being opened, it would be the desktop GUI's responsibility. I believe you can configure stuff like that in XFCE, the desktop I use, but I have no value for such a feature and leave it turned off. 2. There could be a number of reasons why that is happening, though I personally don't use "suspend" because it does more harm than good if you leave, say, a laptop partially on in a bag where lack of heat dissipation could cause damage. Suspend is a feature of ACPI which means you have to start with making sure that there's not a BIOS issue and ensure that is updated to the very latest version first. You may then have to change some power settings in the BIOS. Once you've done that, the chipset in your PC may not be fully supported under Linux, or it may need specific kernel modules to be loaded at boot time. Additionally, you may have to edit one or more configuration files to finally get it working. There are a number of things to consider for a useless feature designed only for the impatient that very few people actually care about anyway - SSD's have reduced boot times to mere seconds in some cases so most people just shutdown fully and restart their PCs when they need to use them again.

HI Savaagepro, it might help to know which GUI you are using and what version of the GUI it is? Answering a question with question I know is a pain, but I kinda need to know to make a suggestion.
