Precision! Django made music out of simple harmonic based on chord ideas! Not guitaristic ..more pianistic or trumpet like Louis Armstrong his idol! Great job!

Thanks 👍 really appreciate the comment. Yes Django followed the chord changes perfectly. It was so simple but... So fast 😊

Thanks Tom this world of Django is pretty new to me so it's nice to have the approval of the community 👍

I've been listening to the Django version for 60 years...impossible for me to tire of it....but you sir have mastered what I see as an impossible act to follow!.. Very well done You played faithfully to Django's playing, not trying to reinvent the piece. For a non-guitar player like myself, this sounds like magic.......as we say in Cornwall.......proper job my 'ansome!!

Thanks a lot. As a guitar player, i find more magical note choices in early jazz music than in anything today, so it's really inspiring to listen to, and learn. My real name is from Cornwall 'Roskilly' look out for snow next week! Glad you enjoyed the cover version 🙂

Awesome. Love that song. So much fun to learn. Those runs are so beautiful. Apparently he IMPROVISED that. Ppl don't know. Django was the best. Who's the best? Hendrix? Nope. It's django

Matter of Taste and there has never those who exceeded the Innovators such as Charlie Christian..Wes..Elmore James..TBone Walker..Albert King..BB..Even Allan Holdsworths idol was Coltrane> Still confused? LOL Djangos idol was Louis Armstrong.See the pattern nice try!LMAO Playing more notes is not Art in itself! It is often an overreaction without own sounds or feelings. Add George Benson to the list! 1492 produced exactly what is seen right now mainly clones!

Fantastic. Are you using just thumb and first finger? Nails or fingers? I use a pick and my middle finger to pinch two strings. Playing for over sixty years. Thank you for the great Django sounds.
@MarkRoskoGuitarАй бұрын
Hi there. Thanks. I'm using a tiny Dunlop jazz pick. They're really small but have a sharp point and are thick for added grip.

@MarkRoskoGuitar Thank you! My father only taught me through Mel Bay book two. It seems to me you must have gone through to book twelve! Do you have a warm up routine?
@MarkRoskoGuitarАй бұрын
Not so much a routine, but if my hands are cold in the winter, I do run them under the hot tap before attempting to play 🙂 particularly the tendons in the fingers 👉 Also, usually my warm up is the things I'm practicing just played slowly. It helps me developing muscle memory/ auto pilot

Bravo. I was just as impressed with the backing rhythm guitar track. Did you also play that?
@MarkRoskoGuitar Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much. But no! The rhythm track is available on KZbin - it loops for around 10 mins non stop. Actually I did a 'short' where I play a little bit of the rhythm (you can check it out) But because I have no means to record a sharp decent acoustic sound, I used the backing track for better quality sound.

Use the neck pick
@MarkRoskoGuitarАй бұрын
Yeh good idea. With hollow bodies, it's very hard to track what tone is going into the mix because you can hear the acoustics popping out too. (Outside of the pickup)
