Sat navs were a horrendous price & not really reliable enough yet. So if I entered a new county I'd buy the county A-Z map & my maps all lived in a wickerwork dog basket on the passenger seat... Anyway, half way around the roundabout, map on the steering wheel, can of Red Bull in one hand, a Guarana Boost (Remember those? Gorgeous!) in the other and I had my knee wedged under the steering wheel. That leg was on tip-toes and if you kept the right pressure with your toes you could steer just enough by moving your leg side to side. As I exited the roundabout, I looked up from the map, took a bite of chocolate and a copper was waving me into a lay by with a queue of 10 or 12 cars in it. As I came to a halt the copper opened the passenger door & standing on the step leant into the cab. "Do you know why I've stopped you?" He'd obviously seen what I'd been doing so I said "Well, at a guess I'd say it was me exiting the roundabout 10mph over the speed limit whilst map reading, having breakfast & steering with my knee, mate." He appeared to relax a little and he turned to look at the row of cars. "See those cars?" he said. I nodded. "Well, all those drivers, when asked the same question, looked all innocent like & said "No officer, I haven't got the foggiest!" so they all got nicked. You're the first driver to admit to knowing what what you did. So, go down to the end of the layby, get yourself sorted out and fuck off!" I breathed a huge sigh of relief! Would've been sacked for sure! But yeah, you're right, there was a knack to it.

A common theme in these videos is ‘ I just don’t get it, why do people want to see industrial estates or this and that’ . The truth is we are all different, some people go train spotting, it’s not my thing but good for them. Other people catch bugs and stick pins in them for display purposes, eww and icky but good for them. I like watching videos about many things, industrial estates is one of them it feeds my inner child,geek and curiosity. I’m mostly house bound due to illness and physical limitations so these videos are freaking awesome for me 😊 thanks DJ
