Herein Canada, there’s grants you can apply for to get these units installed in your home (I believe it’s a sliding scale ranging from full to partial coverage). The principle behind the idea is that it’s far cheaper to grant someone various mobility devices in order to keep them in their home, than it is to place the person into a care facility. And honest, I think it’s a great idea. A mobility assistance device actually helps promote a sick or disabled persons well being. Rather than the infirm person becoming sedentary, which compounds medical problems.
