If I can add something here, at 8:00 when you put a yellow market at bar 113 because the kick is not in phase of the 113th bar. first we need to know something important, what are those tracks ? Where are they coming from? if the tracks are recent, coming from beatport, or your own track, it means they have a fixed bpm. if they are old school track, they might have a tricky bpm with some numbers after the dot. and maybe will have to add many yellow marker. disco songs and vinyl rip needs many of those yellow marks. That being said, let say that your track here is a brand new track. as we can see on the left bottom corner, the original BPM of your track is 124.00 bpm, automatically detected by Ableton Live. The question is, why is a recent track, that has a fixed BPM, is not in phrase at bar 113 (and so on)... ? it's because Ableton detection is not 100% accurate. but then you gonna say: yeah but it's still written 124.00 so it should be fine right? And I will tell you: no my friend, the BPM that Ableton has detected for your track is 124.00 BPM but after those 2 zeroes there are some invisible numbers... so in fact, Ableton is a bit wrong... in fact, ableton has detected that your track is 124.000056456 etc.... numbers that we cant see, cant change. So here is a easier solution that you have to do to all your tracks: Step 1: Clic on the 1:1 yellow mark, the first and only yellow mark. (this is to be sure u have selected this point) (make sure there is no other yellow marks, ONLY ONE) Step 2: now that this point is selected, you are able to manually change the bpm of the track. Step 3: go at the end of the track and zoom in to see how messy it is. Step 4: Clic on "Seg. BPM" on the lest side of the wav form. Step 5: type your fixed BPM, in this case it's 124, clic enter, and see the magic happening of your wavform being in place perfectly. Do this to every track, have a quick verification with the metronome, and let's go Have a good mix :)

Thank you! I got a question: I'm making a long mix of 15+ songs. When listening back to the result, I hear good but sometimes not so good mixes. If I then make some adjustments at the beginning of the mix, I have to remix also the songs after it all over again. Is there any way to 'group' or to 'fix' these good mixes/songs together? Do you know the function to do that? Thank you in advance.

Does abelton allow you to assign track numbers to a DJ continuous mix with out separating the mix into indivual tracks ? My goal is to be able to export it as one long continuous mix, but also be able to jump to different tracks.(like a WPL file)

Really Good Video Lesson, But I do have a question, how do you do this .. when you have one song ( Say at ) 120BPM and you are Mixing up to 130BPM but you are using 4 song step up to get there, I see here all the songs are the same BPM, but some DJ's Mix Scale up BPM, and Scale down BPM, how do you stair step / scale up and down, from like Tech to R&B to Pop to Hip-Hop, with a Range of BPM's, Can you take a moment and show / create a video to show us that? Not everyone Mix at 125-126, there are killer songs at lower and hight BPM's...

Hey there, so here he was using warp mode so that every song he warps would be adjusted to the BPM of the Ableton Session, here it was 120, however, if you don't want to use the warp mode you could automate the BPM of the Session and adjust it accordingly. Hope this helps!

Lol what’s the point of “showing the skills”when you’re just hitting the play button ?
@djdeepbhamra3 жыл бұрын
Guess what. All skills that you may have cannot be shown to a client via a video or an audio 😅 it's only to satisfy their demands. You may be the best performing artist on stage. But if on the day of the event the setting is not perfect for whatever reason. The event won't go as intended. . Also the dj set you send to the client is a depiction of what you can do. Like builders make a scaled model of a building before they actually build it. You show the investors or clients what you can do. And they give you the contract trusting you will deliver what you promise. similarly, The example dj set is like the 1st impression, it is only to set an expectation. It's your responsibility to kill it on the day of the performance and live up to the set expectation. :)

How can we take all the required skills of a real dj and throw them out the window ... I know trash the dj software and use ableton so those listening have no idea i don't actually know how to mix two tracks together............ If this was a video on how to arrange a live set of your own produced music I would be fine with this but it isn't, this lying about your ability to mix

As a DJ, producer, and label owner, I'd 100% blacklist anyone who submitted a faked mix made this way.
