Great info. and great presentation. I'm teaching a begginers djembe (and tuning) class at our local library today. Now I "get" why some diamonds look upside down and why some rows go right and some left. BTW... does going left with the second row have an advantage? Thanks!

How do you know what the pitch should be, or is it more of a tonal thing?

At 4:30 ref. 2nd row....evaluate.... good reason for "turn-around"? Choice of next rope unclear? Try another.
