Thank you Alistair for producing this excellent video. It gives another dimension to the Grand Designs programme.

I've been out to the folly a few times, spent a lot of time taking photos there. I came across a website about it's restoration but only saw one photo of the inside, which is such a pity, but I did hear that it will be on Grand Designs at some point.

I believe that Dinton Folly was never meant to be lived in but was built with the fossils et al to be eventually enjoyed as a very decorative ruin of a castle. Check out my work on Dinton to find out more. There's more to those walls for the close up view. Love this video. It makes it look even more amazing than it is!

Personally, I find it quite sad that I'll never be able to go and visit this ruin again. It's been a part of my life since I was a kid. My mates and I used to play in it throughout the 1980s. Then during the 1990s it became a favourite place for my mates and I to sit round a bonfire and have a 'smoke', if you know what I mean ✌😉. Then it became a regular place for a 'comfort break' whilst out on my bike. It was funny seeing it on Gran Designs, and knowing what I've been up to in there over the years.... 🤫x
