Hope you like this video. It took me a while to edit down the nearly 200GB of footage I filmed while in Iceland for 10 days.
What you see here is all straight out of the drone though - no color correcting, sharpening or stabilization.
Drone settings:
4k/30fps - Auto EXP & WB - Normal Color
Edited together in Final Cut Pro

Well shows the value of good editing and good colour correction. One of the best videos of iceland so far. And by now several hundred if not thousands of similar videos on youtube. Given the virus, will be awhile before droners can visit Iceland again! Maybe just as well, was getting a bit much. On the other hand I would much rather be without the corona! This sucks with no travel, no anything at the moment. Well stay safe!

Thanks! That’s really a high compliment! But actually I didn’t do any color correction on this video cause I wanted to show people what the video quality looks like straight from the drone. And I totally agree - these are very tough times having to be stuck inside without even much of the normal day-to-day travel we’ve become accustomed to. Stay safe and hang in there! (I know I’ve also been watching a lot of travel drone videos of various places as “virtual mini vacations” of sorts)

Very nice footage. I came up with the following thoughts after watching. Can you give me some info about: Did you shoot this in H.264 or H.265 codec? Why did you choose to pick a frame rate of 30 fps? Do you leave the shutter-speed on automatic or always double the fps like most tell to do? Do you shoot almost everything in cinematic mode or just normal mode? Did you use any LUT to adjust the footage? Thanks for your time

Did you download it to your pc or did you stick the sd card with the adapter in the pc? And after editing, which settings did you use to export it and how do you post it on KZbin? This is the first drone footage I've seen flying above animals (0:28) where they weren't disturbed. Must be very quiet (or the horses have seen it all a thousand times before...). Nice work - thank you and cheers from Aust - Dave

The M2 is certainly the most quiet of all of DJI’s drones but even it will disturb most wildlife. That shot was the first time flying over the horses but on the way back they started to get skittish so I landed it. Besides just being mean to the animals I avoid flying around wildlife because shots of scared running animals isn’t the most enjoyable to watch.

Some places (like the volcano lake) prohibit flying drone but you can still do so since surveillance is minimal.

30% of the video is in a no fly zone.. vulcano, Geysir, Reykjavik... ;) also flying that close in vik to the birds island isn't that clever, my drone was attacked many times from birds in iceland..

Congratulations! The film is very well done. What percentage of the clips did you record in HQ mode? Did you have the camera setting all on default? (S0 / K0 / S0)

Thanks! I recorded all of the clips in HW mode because this was actually filmed before DJI rolled out the the Full FOV mode in an update. Camera settings were all default as well.

Great footage and thanks for sharing. However, the image quality seems inconsistent. Much of this is very sharp, but a number of clips are soft and in many clips, the upper left hand corner of the frame is very soft (and only that portion). It's especially bad at 4:34. I have a Phantom 3 Pro that is inconsistent in image sharpness, especially in the cold. I wonder if the Mavic 2 suffers from the same issue? Did you shoot wide open or stop down at all?

Thanks! I haven’t been back since I filmed this, but unfortunately I expect the rules would have probably gotten tighter rather than looser. Still, it’s worth bringing a drone because even if you can’t fly at “the attractions” the Icelandic landscape even as your driving down the road is definitely drone-worthy.

Normal Colour H264 I believe , very nice and professionally made I've been testing colour profiles on my mavic 2 pro but I think that these are the best settings you can get Well done

I also to Iceland next year (2020) and Greenland.🤩But i think i could wish a drone to Christmas because i also want to make movies and Pictures from this stunning nature. Main reasons I am sticking with my Inspire 2 is that there's always possible to accidentally shoot your own propellers and landing gear and also the gimbal is not moving that much when using Mavic 2. Nice work by the way. 🙂
