The locking connector flub was such a non-issue -- extremely common for those of us with substantial field experience using a variety of lavs and receivers. (I once lost an entire celebrity interview that way.) The locking portion can usually be easily removed for more compatibility, and I simply forgot (never again).

I have a similar setup: the DJI Mic 2 + the MI Shoe adapter for the Sony camera + Rode Lav II. One trick I found using a lav mic with a locking mechanism on the transmitter unit is to unscrew the locking bit, if possible, allowing the 3.5mm pin to go deeper into the DJI unit. As for the interference noise, this might be a problem with the cable and the 3.5mm ports on both the camera and receiver unit. I often run into interference issues with the 3.5mm mic jack. Getting the Mi hot shoe adapter might solve the problem, as I found the hot shoe connection to be more stable than the 3.5mm overall.

I don't do tech reviews, but I have 1100 videos up on KZbin, so I heavily rely on technology. My DJI Mic V2 has worked flawlessly. Although I don't use lav mics often anymore, I do have a couple of Rode Lav mics that worked well with my DJI Mic V1 kit. Next time I shoot, I will test my Rode lavs to make sure they work, just in case. I am glad the V2 kit works without a receiver on my Pocket 3, and I plan on replacing my Action 3 with the 4 just for the built-in receiver. When it comes to tech, I like less but better: no receiver and no wire, just turn on the mic and see the audio bar bouncing across the top of the screen. Plus, I use the Mic V2 without a receiver directly with my iPhone and MacBook Pro. It has simplified my setup time and has worked 100% so far. I do have the 32-bit internal record set up to auto-start when I record but haven't needed it yet. No receiver, no wire from receiver to camera, no lav mic plugged in. Turn on the mic and hit record; great audio and foolproof, which I need as a solo creator with no one to check audio or video; I just need it to work every time.

It’s great that it works for you but “great audio” over Bluetooth with this kit seems like a huge stretch from every example out there. I had the exact same problem with the interference on a different brand but similar feature set. I am currently in contact with customer service to get the issue resolved, and they have responded to my problems within a reasonable time frame. The Ankerwork M650 are very similar in features to the DJI mic 2, and I actually prefer their round shape over the rectangular DJI. However, just as you said in this video, the audio was completely unusable and I was using them in a "live streaming setting". The first set would get the interfence randomly and this was in a rural setting with no major sources of interference such as cell phone towers, transformers, large power lines and etc. I isolated each side of the stereo audio through a mixer and both mics had the same issue even though one was more prone to the problem. I eventually duplicated the problem with nothing but a cellphone and the mic set with all other electronics removed. They replaced that set and the replacement set had the same issue but I could easily duplicate the problem by being outside of a 25 foot range. Yes, I did say that correct, outside of 25 feet, straight line of sight with no obstructions the audio was unusable. However, the first set would work at times with a range of several hundred feet, even through building walls. So, I believe there may be some QC issues regarding reception that use a common component to both systems. My audio anomaly sounds the exact same, as that poor reception, garbled jibberish that you display in this video.

I had issues with the Mic2 as well. I purchased 3 completed sets as well as 3 OSMO Pocket 3 creator sets. All Mic2s from OSMO creator sets AND Mic2 sets work with the OSMO Pocket 3 and can be easily paired and swapped. The issue is that within an hour the mics refused to pair to two of the receivers. I went through DJIs troubleshooting and they eventually asked me to return the two DJI Mic2 Sets that wouldn’t pair with the receivers. Hopefully this can be fixed through an update, but even that can’t happen unless it can be loaded directly onto the Mic2 it’s self. I also had the same interference issues but only if I was around a 2.4ghz source… like you guessed it WiFi. The mics worked beautifully away from WiFi sources:( Hope this helps someone.

This DJI second generation mic system is most definitely NOT a professional product that is intended to "mix'n'match" with professional audio components like the Sennheiser MKE-2 microphone. So here's a revolutionary idea ... use this "amateur/enthusiast" DJI product as it's intended to be used with the lav that's provided by DJI, and the system will work flawlessly. Your ongoing efforts to interface the fundamentally incompatible Sennheiser MKE-2 mic demonstrate nothing more than pointless stubbornness. If you want to use a pro lav, then match that lav with a Zaxcom, Lectrosonics, Shure, etc professional transmitter/receiver system, as these systems that are designed to work with third party lavs like those offered by Sennheiser, Sanken, DPA, etc. Stop trying to interface fundamentally incompatible audio components, and then backhandedly trying to imply that there's something "wrong" with one of them. It erodes confidence in your ability and/or knowledge to review audio components.

The MKE-2 requires a different operating voltage than can be provided by the DJI transmitter, so you have no idea if it did, or did not contribute (pro-tip, it very likely did contribute) ... all apparently irrelevant though, as you choose to deflect facts in order to create a non-existent "issue" related to DJI. Simple… You should not have done any review at all but waited for you / dji to solve the problems.

We have problems with wisa speakers in combination with wifi on 5ghz. The dji 2 run on 2.4 ghz. Maybe you want to try and disable 5ghz to make sure a laptop is connected on 2.4 and then download a large file while testing the mic.

That is definitely because of the locking pins in my experience. Dji mic first edition is not working with my rode lavaliers unless it is forced in the jack appropriately

I had in consistent interference issues my DJI mic 1. I loved everything about the mics but after a few updates I started having issues with different lavs and 3.5mm cables. I ended up going back to the Rode lavs.
