I have seen elsewhere that when you connect via BT to non DJI devices the audio quality drops AND you can only connect one Tx (at a time). Did I miss this info in your review or was it omitted?

Thanks for the comparison video. I upgraded to the Mic2 from the original Mic when it was released as the bluetooth connection to the Action 4 camera is so much more convenient for my Motovlogging. Now, these Mini's should be even better as they'll fit much neater inside my crash helmet. I can feel a lot of testing time coming up!

The Bluetooth connection is incredibly convenient. I use the Pocket 3 often, and not having to deal with a receiver is an absolute game-changer.

I run into the same issue with perfection in creating content…perfection paralysis. As a recently becoming a DJI mic 2 user (and past the return window) the DJI Mic Mini is really not an option for me. Plus I really find the lack of being able to record on the device itself. Something that was real handy on the Mic 2. However, if this would’ve came out a month ago, I might’ve considered this rather than the higher price Mic 2. Too bad the mic Mini does not connect with the Mic 2 receiver.

Can you get the mic mini combo + the white version, and then decide which one you want to bring? For example: corporate shoot you want the black ones, but for a wedding you might want a black one and a white one (for the bride let's say). Is that possible?

In my opinion, and with my voice, the Mic Mini has a slightly "fuller" sound. I personally think it sounds better. Unfortunately, the receiver can’t be paired with the larger one.

Irrespective of your video content format I think people will still watch because the videos are great. I have said it before, I don't bother going through all the reviews because it ends up confusing, its easier to go to a trusted channel and tick all the boxes there. On the sound test I did think that the Mic Mini had more depth to the sound. DJI seem to be going from strength to strength and these less costly options are very welcome especially when they don't compromise the quality. Thanks again ;-)

I wonder how this will compare to the Rode ME. I’m also surprised they don’t sell a set with one white and one black mic. It seems like the white version was created specifically for wedding videographers, but with these options you’d have to buy an extra mic if you wanted two colors and a case.

Having had and used the DJI Mic 2 since it came out, making several videos on feature and flaws (no backup recording while connected via bluetooth to smartphones being the big one, since you can’t then bring just the mic and a phone and record a crappy bt audio track to your video and easily sync and replace it with a decent internal recording later) the Dji Mic Mini is probably the version most people should get, unless one REALLY needs the internal backup recording done internally on the Dji Mic 2’s (most people don’t need it for hobby video, necessary for «pro» use/paid productions). The bluetooth option is unusable anyway on both versions, and *most* people don’t need the 32 bit float quality of the internal dji mic 2 recordings unless they are recording in conditions where audio levels might go from normal to REALLY LOUD (i.e. during football matches or other sporting events, interviewing really exited people or recording audio from speakers who talk *really* loud at times, but then fluctuates between loud and normal volumes). However: if one has a older iphone (with lightning), use a thick case on their phone, or use an android without usb c the Mini is not a really good option, and not the mic 2 either :/

3:35 Uht… 😮, now I’m only critical here because I bought that same Rode Lav - which has a TRRS connection not a TRS and requires an adapter… but I know this was just a demonstration (however some of us pay attention 😉) and you specified TRS (DJI style) whilst plugging in the third party TRRS 😅 I almost tossed the Lav into the bottom of the drawer had I not learned the difference 👍

TBH I will probably skip this. I have my pocket 3 combo with the DJI mic 2, with the price, I think I will just get another DJI Mic 2 transmitter and pair it to my Pocket 3 instead. I will get Hollyland Lark M2 full package instead if I want to connect with my camera and my smart phone. This is just my use case scenario that works best for me.

​@@MichaelKrisa Sorry, ignore my previous response! I was replying to the wrong comment about connecting to a smartphone-my mistake! If you have 2 transmitters paired via Bluetooth to the Pocket 3, you CAN record from both at the same time, and there's no need to use the receiver. The only benefit I found with using the receiver is that it gives you slightly better transmission range. To attach it, just plug it into the USB-C port on the bottom of the Pocket 3, or you can connect it to the extended battery handle and plug the receiver into the USB-C port on that.

I have DJI Mic 2 and Also have Holly Land Mark 2. To be honest Holly and Mark 2 Sounds much better than Mini but Mini a feature which it shares with DJI Mic 2 and that is BT connection which I use frequently with my Insta360 Cameras.i am tilting towards buying the Mic Mini Sinhke unit instead of full set as even the Lightning adopter from Mic Mini that costs an extra $29 CAD is not compatible with DJI Mic 2 or the other way around. So Single Unit will be my best bet and rest I will keep using my favorite Holland Lark Mark 2.
