I have the Lark MII and love it. It is the simplest mic to use, especially when setting volume, High Med or low and 99% of the time just set it to med and its fine. Although DJI has it to set plus or minus 6-12, that can get confusing for some people, and you may change it and forget when you use it again. Lark II makes it so simple that it is almost impossible to mess up. That said, I will be buying the DJI mini because I just love DJI products.

Try to put the deadcat on the M2 and you even regret that you were born. Moreover, you have to remove it every time you put the transmitter back in the case. The DJI deadcat attachment design and the fact that you can store the transmitter with the fur on in the case is enough for DJI to become superior. The sound can be EQ-ed in the post. Once you find the settings you like, save it and it's never again an issue. The deadcat drives you nuts on a daily basis.

DJI is a little late to the game here (as is RODE with theirs) as most of us have already purchased the Lark M2. Thanks for this video--which proves that either will work just great if you don't have one. With that said, I still prefer the Lark M2 because: 1. It's lighter 2. It looks smaller due to the round form factor 3. It doesn't have an obnoxious DJI logo on it, and even provides stickers to easily cover their design on the front. I now have a white and black Lark M2 transmitter to use with different outfits. DJI just copied the existing trend of tiny/light mics... but didn't really add anything significant to the category. So, as you say--it just comes down to pricing.

Very interesting release. Sound is very comparable to me this time, i might just ever so slightly prefer the Hollyland but the difference is negligible. Noise cancelling is a good bit better tho, surprisingly. Weak is as strong as DJI's strong mode and sounds cleaner. Strong NC on the Hollyland is... strong, but doesn't sound good enough anymore imo. That DJI has matched the price i wouldn't have guessed. Both have their advantaged, but the Lark M2 wins in the categories important to me. And i like the fun shape. Glad there's competition now

Sure the Mini has some pluses (case that holds the windmuffs) but NOT where it counts: Audio. Why do far too many reviewers miss this??? Some don't even have any audio samples. I got some thoughts. - I like the Hollyland USB-C or Lightning attachment more than the DJI one. It's just smaller and is less bulky when attached to the phone. - DJI is the obvious choice if you're connecting it to a DJI camera since you don't have to use the receiver. - If you clip the DJI mic to your shirt, the mic would be facing sideways. On the Hollyland, the clip turns, so you can adjust it to point towards your mouth. - The DJI has better features, like the clipping control and safety track. - DJI lets you turn off the LED, where it isn't posible on the Hollyland. - I like the magnet system more on the hollyland since it sticks out less. In the end, I will probably get the DJI just because of that ability to connect to DJI cameras without the receiver.

Lark M2 sounds a little bit better (more bass), it’s cheaper now (great deal on BF), have better (small compact) transmitter to phone, and with magnets it’s keep better on your clothes bcs dji has a clothing mount and only then a magnet (the center of gravity is further from the clothing), in M2 magnet is directly to microphone. So it would be better for me to get the Dji Mic Mini instead of Lark M2. 3rd: Magnets on Dji Mic Mini is stronger compare to Lark M2 for thicker clothing 4th: The safety track from DJI mic Mini is very useful, as if they have a 32bit-float preventing from clipping audio just incase someone shouted. Since I already has the Dji Mic 2 comes with Pocket 3, I can use that transmitter and pair with my iphone 16 pro (with 32-bit float turn on in pocket 3) using blackmagic. Have the Dji Mic Mini connect with Pocket 3. Win win. That's why I will still go with Dji Mic Mini.

Will it sound the same if i just buy the dji mini and just use Bluetooth? or is there a big difference to the point of just buying the whole package with the receiver?

The audio to DJI devices is good, but the bluetooth to phones is less good. I would get the one with the receiver to give you the option

For only phone users, i Think it is better the Hollyland because the transmiter has a really small print ... DJI shrunk the mics but still need to make a small transmiter for phone users... i have the hollylands and it is super easy to use and has good enough sound!

I do love that small receiver for the phones. You can connect the phone wirelessly to the DJI, but it will cost you a bit of audio quality.

Thanks* for answering... and yes, and if it helps you to know some user experiences, i had the dji mic 2 (just the mic), and used it with bluetooth with my iPhone (because i thought it will be minimalistic) but the recording sometimes woould cut a Word (maybe because of the bluetooth connection) and it was a pain... then i sold it and for 40 $ more i bought the lark mark 2 (USBc edition) and with 2 mics and it never loses connection.

Does the mic mini connect to the Ace Pro (AP1) via bluetooth? I know my Lark M2 doesn't, which is a bummer.

It should connect yes but it seems with the Ace pro you have to reconnect the transmitter every time you want to use the two together. It doesn't' automatically reconnect
