the problem i think is the battery. it can't reach its maximum distance because the battery drain faster

With stock battery fresh fully charged it can fly 12km, so reaching max distance record about 6km in FCC. The weight of the stock battery is reduced to remain below 250g takeoff mass limit because this is a regulatory limit for ultra light UAVs that doesn't require neither basic license. I had build my own battery using 2 Lipo cells 3,85V 3500mAh that fit inside the mini2, by dismantle an original one recovering the intelligent batt board and rewrote some parameters stored in it, like the one extend the voltage drain to 3,3V instead 3,6V as factory default. Then I also disabled in the FW drone the default setting autogohome, and set autolanding at 3,2V (with enough power reserve to descent safe atleast twice 120m, before 3,0/2,9V reaching). With this mods I reached 51 min hoovering, takeoff mass 279g and I think can run for 24km with a full charge at best environment conditions. However I notice the motors will run a bit faster, probably going over the best efficiency regime, but since the mini2 can't be equipped with larger propellers this can't be solved. Infact the mini 3/4 have larger props... maybe tri-props can achieve some best result with 30g extra load. Actually the records documented for mini2 without RC signal amp, so with Ocu2 FCC 0,4W stock, is 11km distance and 22km travel. About ascent travel altitude is 2,6km.

@@lstruggy You stuck with the camera 2.7K because the firmware limits manage for mini2 SE, and in the App it remain in the SE version. I don't know if it's possible flashing the mini2 firmware on a mini2 SE mainboard, but if not, you can only replace actual mainboard with the one for mini2.

If it goes that far out so you can't see it how do you get it back. Is it simply press a RTH button

Generally yes, use RTH. But if you know the landscape well enough you can just visually work your way back using the screen.

Yes gps satellite will literally fly it home for u, If u turn the radio controller off mid flight walk away from it’ll return back to the take off spot

Maybe in the middle of the sea or in a desert but you are only able to fly up to 4 km in one direction before needing to turn back due to low battery

Mostly empty fields, but there were big electrical cables nearby so maybe they could have caused some interferance

@spoonysteam2708 Even the most expensive DJi drones only last around 40 minutes so 30 minutes is pretty good for such a cheap and portable little drone
