Hey Matt what the he'll is addi mode sometimes when I start the drone it says Andy mode and the drone won't go any higher then 10 meter's and also at that time the drone is drifting sideways it's crazy cos your looking at the controller and the drone is moving I do notice there is no satellites on screen so is is when you launch at night it tends to do it can you tell me what that is is it because it's too dark

Rule # 1: Never take off or land in sand to avoid getting dust/sand/dirt in your drone ! (as shown at the beginning of this video)

While I totally agree, I have been in areas near the beach which appeared to be sandy, but which actually had a very slight surface layer which was not loose surface, but which was, in fact, hard packed, or had a tiny bit of some sort of botanical life which was safe to launch from, but is not visible in video. I am assuming that was the case in the mentioned shot. Weathered sand, especially near salt water can be non-harmful. This was back when I was flying the original Phantom 2 Vision, which was very hard to hand-launch. With the minis today, there is really no reason to not hand-launch in questionable environments.

The best thing I ever did was change the control scheme to option 3, where it operates a lot like a fps game. Suddenly I was flying it intuitively instead of having to think about every movement.

I wouldn't recommend doing that. Although it might seem easier at first, it could make it much harder to fly other drones, especially ones where you can't change the control scheme.

@@poultrypants That was a consideration, but that control scheme is so ingrained in me that it was completely natural, so it's really just a matter of learning the other controls now, or in the possible event that I get a different drone that doesn't support my preferred one.

Use H265. It compresses better while improving the quality of the compression. The only way you would have problems is if you are using a computer from early 2010s or earlier.

When I got my DJI Mini 3 Pro the subject tracking was actually off by default, which is fine for me. One thing I wish is that some settings you could change while the drone powered on but not in flight, but I've found there are settings you can't change unless it's in flight.

More thanks to you Mathew, I have been playing round with the Mini 3 Pro now for a couple of days but was having an issue with stuttering video file playback. Initially I thought I might have a problem with the drone then I remembered you saying something about the H265 Codec so I checked and it was set at 265. I changed it back to 264 and the files played perfectly. Had I not watched your posts I would not have had the 'lightbulb' moment and no doubt become more and more frustrated. Thanks again

Nice video, great facts, but I disagree about the outdated H.264 Codec. I don't exactly know with which hardware you may run intro trouble but my PC, my Phone, my Smart TV, everything works absolutely fine with H.265.

Don't change the video to h264 mind, the file sizes are twice the size. Also there should be an option of just RAW as Jpeg+RAW gives you duplicates which is annoying when you 100s of photos

Yeah. Also unless you have a computer from 2010 you should be able to watch and edit H265 without issue.

Hey! I have mine set to "recenter the gimbal to the horizon" and "lock auto-exposure", but it's personal choice! Another good option would be to set one to "change between vertical and horizontal" recording mode. Hope this helps!

Hello. I just bought the DJI Mini Pro 3 and I am having an issue already. I can't fly it beyond about 100 feet away from me, it will say Maximum Distance Reached. I don't get it. Also, with both the drone and hand unit fully charged, the hand unit just peeps at me. Sometimes slower than others, but peeps. Sometimes the peep stops but only my second test flight outside my house. I am connected to around 31 SATS. I do get a notification that there's an airfield by me, but that small airport is over 6 miles away. I have all settings set to their max distance. So, needless to say I am not getting anywhere close to 13km, or whatever the true max distance is on this. I am confused. Peeps and stops about 100 feet away from me? Thanks for any help here. I would hate to return this if it's just something I am missing, some setting?
