This video shows the new DJI Mini 4k drone video quality, with 4k footage examples from this DJI latest release, and what looks to be the best starter drone for 2024. Being small and a 250 gram DJI drone, it is the perfect travel drone and is also one of the cheapest 4k drones available.

All of these cinematic video nature clips were filmed near where I live in Cornwall, UK, including drone footage of the Helford Estuary, Porthluney Beach, Perranuthnoe, St Michael's Mount, Prussia Cove, Cudden Point, Gribbin Head, Polridmouth Cove and Cudden Point.
You'll see that the DJI Mini 4k video drone is much the same as DJI’s Mini 2 SE, except it films in ultra HD 4k at 30 frames per second, instead of 2.7k at 30 frames per second or quad HD on the Mini 2 SE. It is not a 60fps drone but it does has some of the best drone image quality of an entry level drone under £300.
Why is the DJI Mini 4k not on the DJI website? There is no answer from DJI, however it is only available from Amazon for £269 or $299. (links above)
There are features this best beginner drone doesn’t have. There are no sensors for obstacle avoidance, the gimbal doesn’t rotate to vertical & only shoots horizontal footage & there’s no tracking or following either, though there are QuickShots such as Dronie, Rocket, Circle, Helix & Boomerang, for getting tracking shots. I''ll show how to use QuickShots using the DJI Fly App & a DJI drone.
The DJI Mini 4k uses the RC- N1c remote control & it connects to a phone. Extra batteries for the DJI Mini 2, Mini 2 SE of the Mini 4k can be purchase for around £60 or $80.
You can take 12mp photos, in JPEG & RAW & you can capture single shots, 3 bracketed photos for HDR images & timed photos from 2-60 secs.
In the UK, if your drone isn’t a toy & has a camera then you’ll need an annual Operator ID from the CAA which costs £11.13 per year & it’s recommended you get a free Flyer ID at the same time. There’s a 40 question online test.
The DJI Mini 4k truly is one of the best budget starter drones. I hope this ultimate drone buying guide has been useful to choose the cheapest 4k drones.
So what’s next from DJI drones? There will be a number of drones to be released in 2024 including the DJI Neo, DJI Mini 5 Pro & DJI Mavic 4 which look to offer the best 4k at 60fps & top video quality.

For the price they really are great. My wife and I are in the process of doing something crazy, selling everything we own and moving onto a sailing yacht to travel the world and start content creation. We are moving to Florida in 5 months from Oklahoma to buy our boat. In the meantime we got all our camera equipment to start practicing and learning how to use them. We got all DJI stuff, this drone, an Action 4, and a Pocket 3. They are all great.

@@kyetechdroneaerials1587 We are making a channel toward the end of this year for it. As for Florida, we are going to sell everything we own minus necessities and then we are going to get in our one paid-off truck and drive from Texas and just start working our way from the panhandle down until we find the right boat haha. We have no idea where we will end up right now, it's all a part of the adventure! Once we get one, we will move on board and spend a few months learning how to operate it and fixing/upgrades and then will set sail to the Bahamas first. We plan on doing a full circumnavigation eventually.

just got mine set up in the house ready for first flight , used to have a Mavic pro (but so delicate ) original and the quality this small drone produces is exceptional for the price

Hi, i've just got my first drone, a Mini 4k. Can i ask what you have used to edit the video? As in the titles etc, it's something i'd like to get into!

I use Premiere Pro for the editing, the title is just one of the presets. Hope you enjoy the drone!

Soo this is raw auto or manual dlog m ? Or use nd filter?

Hi, the 'raw' part just refers to it being straight off the device and unedited, not a raw file format. Some shots are in auto, some in manual. No ND filters used, it's a beginner drone and the video is just to show what you can achieve straight out of the box. You'll need to upgrade to something like the DJI Mini 4 Pro for D-Log M etc

Absolutely love this ! Mix two of my favourite ingredients, Cornwall and a Drone! Just got the mini 4k, what a bargain on prime day £319 fly more combo. Still rocking the OG Mavic pro and OG Air, but to think I paid over a grand for the mavic pro and this little beast is more than capable? What’s next? Neo?

I haven't done too much low light filming, but in darker spaces camera noise is noticeable, depending on how high your iso is. As it's an entry-level drone you'd definitely get better low light quality in a higher-end drone.
