I’ve just flown my Neo in manual for first time today. Highly impressed so far. Best way to practice manual is with the NEO in my opinion, instead of risking smashing an Avata 🔥

Try flying gas powered helicopters in reverse upside-down acro inches off the ground. You lot are spoilt with this hold gps bollocks. You're not even in control?! Spoilt little salads.. oh, my DJI won't hold gps and hover in the same place (it must be broke) when I don't touch the controls. Snowflake world. Learn how to pilot an aircraft. Thanks for the great video. One thing to mention, if you buy the "Fly more combo", you get an RC-N3 controller, but aparently that doesn't let you go into manual mode. So, I just bough the Neo by itself, plus the "FPV Remote Controller 3" (and also the Goggles 3). Your discount code also saved me some $'s. Thanks again!

Also the Integra goggles and the controller that came with the mini 4pro. While we are here,it's not right that the Integra goggles/goggles2 and mini 4 pro controller are not all compatible together with the mini 4 pro..almost making these goggles obsolete before there time.rant over.

I totally agree Leon, I understand their advancements but they should also make the new drones compatible with the last generation equipment even if it means using the last generation equipment might not do all the bells and whistles that the newer equipment is capable of.

I guess we can learn more flying through narrow gaps rather than diving , rolls, spilt s etc Neo its too weak for those, but you’re right, it is helpfull in many ways including gaining more confidence

I only have a mini 4 pro and avata 2.I will say this is one of the most versatile DJI drones in terms of accessory compatibility as well as multi charging battery hub. But I will wait until the eventual NEO 2/pro. Hopefully with obstacle avoidance, sd card support, longer flight time, lower pitch noise etc etc..

Don’t get me wrong I really wouldn’t mind adding this to my fleet until I upgrade to an Air or Mavic unit, I’ll still probably just wait for the NEOs inevitable successor tho.

@fredthompson1585 I decided not to get the FPV 3 for my Avata 2, I can't fly manual, it will just get broken. I want the Neo for fun as I won't worry about it getting damaged as much, and I can use it without a controller. I dont use the avata 2 or mini 4 much because there too big to carry around all the time.

@fredthompson1585 No, but I stopped used the Avata, it's too big, very limited on where I can fly it due to weight, can't fly it without the goggles, too expensive to try flying in manual mode. I was about to sell it untill the Neo came out, it looks more fun than the avata, I want to try the Neo with Googles and motion 3 indoors. When the Neo 2 comes out I'll get that as well.

Great little drone with one fatal flaw. Don’t fly in Low light. conditions with the motion controller. Warming ! if outdoors you may lose your drone. Hopefully DJI will address this problem in the next film where update.

Well cannot wait for the many crazy owners and reviewers to do the range test, already had one comment saying the Neo can go 5 miles while the new X1 pro cannot! Well with what looks like 7-8 min battery time that 5 miles will be a one way trip and a lost drone!

The battery life is going to limit range tests. I would never fly this drone that far. It can only handle level 4 winds (28km/h wind speeds).

@DansTubeTV I flew my Neo to 120 metres on a day where the app said it was safe and still had the high wind warning and could not return to landing site, but it did anyway but at 120m it's gone from view! I know it's actually designed as a selfie drone.

Yes, you need to download a wind app like Wind Compass or Drone Buddy as gust speeds can be an issue.

You can fix the pitch and roll in settings so you can roll it faster or pitch it way faster. I have my avata 2 set to 810 instead of the default 450 which is honestly super super slow. Personally at 810 I can do rolls and pitch really low to the ground and not crash (10-15m to the ground). I wouldn’t suggest increasing the yaw tho lol.

3.5 m altitude is not enough for Neo’s motors to do a roll, maybe changing some settings would help but I doubt. Even the Avata 2 has its weakness in some scenarios but I’m still happy they allowed full manual control

There is a button on the motion controller to swap modes. On the FPV controller there is a switch to change into sports mode.

You can only legally fly FPV through a Model Aircraft club or via very extensive and expensive Licencing and your (also fully licences) spotter. This kinda sucks cause if it wasnt for a guy at JB mentioning this, I would have totally had one now :( No idea why Oz is so strict.

for some reason the Neo can only fly with 28km/h using the Motion Controller 3, compared to the 58km/h of the Avata 2 also I just can't find a way to disable EIS while recording, so I could use Gyroflow afterwards... I see no option for EIS OFF in the Goggles
