I think according to Chris Rosser, ultrawide with Rocksteady is the same as wide. Hes got a whole section on FOV so Ill have to go back to watch again.

But then with gyroflow you crop in from wide so wouldn't that mean that even though rocksteady ultrawide ends up cropping in to around wide then wouldn't gyroflow still have a lower FOV since it needs to crop in from wide to an even lower FOV?

I don't know... Given the night modes from the Action 5 Pro and Mini 4k Pro I was really expecting more juice in the low-light shadows tbh - and way less blur and blooming... It still has the roots of the O3 low light issues and overcontrasting baked into the footage and doesn't really seem to benefit from those 14 F stops of dynamic range, the sensor offers, too... which leaves me puzzled as this sensor should be so much more capable... I wonder if this is just a question of firmware tweaking at this point? I really hope it's not a far inferiour image processor in the unit. So far it doesn't really make me wanna buy everything new - I'll stick to my current drone+cam setups and prolly add the O4 lite whoop for proximity shots sometime down the road...

Ah thank you so much for sharing I was watching all the reviews all day but only you did a proper cinematic lowlight test and defietive answers regarding gyroflow. Does anybody know why we don’t get gyro data in ultrawide that is a real bummer in o3 and o4 as well especially when we want to to cinematic but high action lowlight stuff. I it possible to just use 2 O4 air units on one quad and film in 4K 60 in low power mode and fly the other in racemode and use the footage from the racemode air units to stabilize the 4K 60 footage from the other air unit?

The grade is not that impressive but wow! D-log really puts it in a sort of Night Vision MODE which really make it incredible for clubs, concerts, or just a night cruise. Amazing! Wait, but where the antennas?

This looks pretty good. A little dark I think you could have gone down to 30fps and lowered shutter to 60. Or even undercranked to 60. It would be interesting to push the ISO higher to 3200 too see how much noise. I liked your statement about seeing the ground. Where you guys were was not super bright. I got lost once at an event because it was just too damn dark. I got up and realized it and it was a sketch situation finding my way home. Now I use a colored light on the ground at night to make sure I can find myself again!

Maybe a new version of gyroflow could be made that uses generative AI to expand the footage slightly so that you don't need to crop in as much. If it is just adding a bit to the edge of an image then it might look fine and since it is the edges it might be fine if it was slightly lower quality too.

If you tweak the camera settings of the O3 you can manage to see in the dark. If you have a whoop with the led strip it's even better.

Good job Bubby! I have to say this was probably the best o4 review I've seen! Everyone did great but honestly, I don't even want to hear about the specs again. This was a great "real life" demonstration of what we can expect in lower light situations. Which is what I really want to know anyway cuzz we already know it's gonna look great in the day. I'm freaking blown away at how good it looks too! I didn't really notice any ghosting either, which is great! Does it have noise removal and sharpness settings like the o3? If so, what were your settings? I thought this shots looked great man. I've ordered one that I plan to build next week. I ordered the qav-s 2 Jonny edition to put it in. Hope it works!
