Merry Christmas!
Once again, DJI knocks it out of the park and gives us yet another fun tool to tell stories! This product is really a no-brainer. It's so simple to use, so small and lightweight, and you won't find a better 4K recording camera at the same price point...period! It's 4K @ 60fps and at an amazing 100mbps. And with so many features like motion timelapse, panorama, slo-mo, and active track it truly is....#betterthangopro
We hope you enjoyed the video and will consider subscribing to our channel!

Thanks for this excellent tutorial. Not only did you explain how to use my new Osmo Pocket but you helped me understand a lot of the terminology and thus the expectations of a gimbal based camera. I’m looking forward to discovering what I can do with this wolf in sheep’s clothing. One bummer though? Not being able to directly import 4K video into my iPhone Camera Roll is ridiculous. The iPhone shoots in most of those resolutions and the file formats work on iOS so what’s the problem? Bad app writing? It isn’t access rights as those work for everything else. Hopefully DJI gets this unacceptable glitch sorted in a firmware update soon. God forbid I should have to edit my videos in something hard on a computer and not just iMovie. 🤪

I'm working with a Pocket connected to the DJI mimo app. I notice when I have the camera on auto exposure, I am able to tap around the screen and get different exposures... cool! I also see that I can "lock" an exposure. What I'm concerned about is that when I lock an exposure it also seems to lock the focus to that point. For instance if I lock the exposure to an object 5 feet away and then try to pan over to an object 2 feet away the exposure remains the same, but the focus does not adjust to the closer object even though I am in AFC mode...? Any advice or tips greatly appreciated!

If the case is very thick on the bottom it may prohibit a proper connection. If it IS too thick, than the wifi adapter would be a handy tool. It'll allow you to wirelessly connect to the Pocket's video. Hi, very good tutorial! I wanted to ask info about the files that are created. Osmo Pocket for continue recordings creates "broken" files of 4.09 GB that at 1080p 25 correspond to 15'30". The problem is that going to "join" them in a video program (FCP or DaVinciResolve) there is a step in the transition between the files. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I have a few questions. First I'll explain my application so you (or others who own this Osmo Pocket) understand the context of my questions. After reviewing what is available, I'm tentatively planning to buy four or five of these cameras to mount to my tiny airplane to take photos of the scenery I fly past. One camera will be mounted to each wingtip... on the bottom of the wings, which are "high wings" at the same level as the top of the cockpit. Another will be mounted beneath the tail of the airplane nominally looking forward (but wonderful if this camera can point in other directions too). Another will be mounted behind and between pilot and passenger seats looking forward (and showing the instrument panel as well as the view through the front window). Finally, possibly I might mount one on passenger side window looking partially forward and partially sideways (to barely capture faces of passenger and pilot in the left edge of the frame, plus view out the pilot window, plus partial view). Now my questions... #1: Can the Osmo Pocket connect to an ipad as well as an iphone? #2: Can the Osmo Pocket connect to an ipad that is 18 feet away (in the cockpit) via 2 or 3 six-foot long usb-c extension cables? #3: Is the image displayed on the ipad or iphone delayed by a few frames, or more-or-less immediate (only delayed by 1 or 2 frames)? #4: Can all the operations be carried out from the remote ipad or iphone (like stop video, start video, set frame rate, set pan start-point & stop-point, etc)? #5: Will the gimbal remove medium-speed vibrations like those associated with propeller-imbalance (5~50 Hz) and turbulence-bounce (5~10 Hz)? #6: Can the cameras tolerate repeated connect and disconnect as I plug the remote ipad into different camera cables to change settings on each? #7: Is there a way to keep the cameras powered for hours at a time via the usb-c cables? More about question #7. If I have 4 or 5 cameras with extension cables that all end in the cockpit, is there some accessory that will let me plug all those cables and a big honking high-capacity battery that would keep those cameras (and the ipad) powered for many hours of continuous shooting? Presumably the cameras will always be shooting in either 4K @ 60FPS *... OR ...* in 4K @ time-lapse (3~6 seconds per frame). So power consumption might be significant. However, maybe power consumption is considerably lower when only shooting time lapse at 3~6 seconds per frame. Do you know if that is true? The other obvious issue/problem will be how to *NOT* fill up the memory card before a several hour long flight is complete. Of course one approach is to plan for a mixture of 4K @ 60 FPS and 4K in time-lapse mode that contains enough time-lapse to avoid overflowing the memory card. Not every flight will be several hours non-stop, but obviously there is no feasible way to crawl out on the wing and swap memory cards during a flight! Hahaha. :-) Do you see any other positive or negative features of the Osmo Pocket for this application? The only true bummer I see is... the absence of a lossless compression mode. Yeah, I know. That requires ~40 times more storage speed. :-o
