Also to comment on the rc2 with the ( no QR code ) option it gives you the other option of downloading the app , it’s unfortunately only to do quick transfer from the drone only it’s not from the rc2 which sucks ( excuse the language) as I wanted a quick way to transfer from rc2 to iPhone but it’s seems only from the drone 🙈

Thanks for the video. I have the Mini 4 Pro and just ordered a USB-C to HDMI cable to try it. I volunteer for a SAR group and we have a 24" tv monitor mounted in a case so we can display the HDMI output of our RC Pro (Mavic 3 Thermal) but having the ability to also use my Mini 4 Pro with that setup is fantastic! Flying the drone while looking at a large screen monitor is soooo much better than staring at the small controller screen once you get used to it.

I got the USB-C to HDMI cable and took the Mini 4 Pro out today. Connected to our monitor box (24" TV) and everything was working fine. Apparently in mid flight the USB-C connector must have pulled out a little from the bottom of the controller. All of a sudden, I lost not only the TV view on the monitor but it caused the RC 2 Controller to reboot. After a few seconds of panic, the controller came back up just as the aircraft was descending to land on its own. Lucky for me, the aircraft was about 550' away and 150' in the air when this happened so it took a while to do its RTH function. Now I'm really uneasy about trying this again.

@billrose4975 it's funny that you mentioned this. This happened when I had the Air 3 and I thought it was just a fluke, but then it happened again today when I was using the RC 2 i got with the Mini 4 Pro. This is something that I definitely hope they fix, but I'm glad you shared that experience with me. Now I know it might be a more widespread issue. Maybe I'll make a video about it. I'm not sure if this would work out for you, but it might behoove you to look into a wireless HDMI solution. I saw them a couple of years ago and they were a little expensive but I'm pretty sure the technology has come down in price.

Hi Thanks for the shout out appreciate it I am I South Africa so yes 8 hours ahead or so Ok so more news for you With the old hdmi device try this Turn off the remote control , connect the cables to the monitor then turn on the remote control it should connect, I learnt the hard way and went from store to store and it didn’t work then I tried that and it worked

Thank you! My M4P arrives soon and I look forward to testing Focus Peaking because my M3P couldn't support it properly while screen recording: the video would skip all the time. DJI said this was because the RC processor wasn't powerful enough to run multiple processes concurrently 9which they didn't mention in the manual or the ads) so hopefully the increased CPU spec of the RC2 will eliminate this problem, even though the higher resolution of the screen recordings should exacerbate it. The other thing worth noting is that the SD card slot in the M4P's RC2 doesn't work! Whatever SD card is inserted, the screen recordings are saved to the (expanded) internal storage instead.

Much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed the video. Focus peaking isn't feature that I have used very much with my Mini 3 Pro since I usually film and set the focus either automatically or manually. I'll test this when I get the chance and let you know how it works. As far as the SD card goes I can't recall if the screen recordings were saved to the memory card when using my M3p but I believe that the screen recordings may be saved to the internal storage due to the Android OS. Other things like like video cache seem to save fine. I typically grab my screen recordings from the controller and export them directly to a flash drive.

Thank you. My M3P did save screen recordings to the RC SD card. I believe the RC2 can be connected directly to my PC to transfer recordings so it won't make a big difference to me if I can't save them to the SD card. It's just a bit sloppy by DJI to mess it up.

@kayberry6292 gotcha. Also i definitely agree with you there. I made a video on how to transfer files from both the RC and RC 2, and at some point, I really had to wing it because of how fragmented the data transfer experience is. Also, I was able to test focus peaking on high while screen recording. The frame rate did definitely dip, but it seems manageable. I wouldn't necessarily say It went down to 30 FPS or something like that, but it definitely was usable.

Never heard of these until now but I'd assume if they have at least a micro HDMI, there shouldn't be any issue. If you get something like a type-c to whatever kind of HDMI is on them, you should be fine.

@@WIHRC Well, for example, if I am out doing a survey of land for a construction company, I could set up a small table and hook up a monitor for just a bigger view. Maybe, I am at an area flying around recreationally with some friends, I cold hook it up so that everyone around could see the view on the larger screen while I concentrate on flying.

Does the RC2 support 4k playback? The older RC controller was only capable of 1080p video playback. Downloaded full resolution viedos cant be displayed.

Any idea how to get a clean feed? Right now it only mirrors the screen on the remote and is incredibly laggy / low quality. I’m looking for a clean (no buttons etc.) feed in 1080p, is this possible?

I'm not sure that this is possible, or rather, I haven't had a reason to look into it. Unless DJI has opened up more of the stock Android version they're using, I'd say no, but I'm also not sure if anything changed with the recent update. I'll have to try it out and see whether they have changed anything regarding this when inget the chance.

You plugged the HDMI into the charging port on the RC1. What happens if you try the HOST USB-C instead (under the flap)?

I'll be honest, this is something I forgot to check since I don't usually use the cache files. From what I've been able to summarize from research, it seems like this was more of a limitation of the Android version versus something that DJI did. Unfortunately, I don't have the RC to any more, but I should be getting it in the future. If anything, I'll report back with the answer here when I have a solid one, assuming you don't find it out first anyway, LOL

Yup, unfortunately, that's still a thing, but I believe that has more to do with Google than anything.
