Great video! Can’t wait to try out the RS3! FYI, you can do an auto calibrate on the original Ronin S by holding the trigger and the m button. The Ronin S is still a great gimbal, but the RS3 looks epic!

How to get it to lock in place. As the filmmakers say "chicken head". Double tap trigger does not work & custom all axis off does not work...am I missing something?

To lock your gimbal in place while you’re using it, it should be just holding down the trigger, double clicking should reset its position. Otherwise use the lock switches on the arms when it’s off

@@ConceptNewEra when I lock the arms the motors fall asleep. I hold it down & it rotates counter clockwise slowly if I double tap it re centers then a half a sec later it starts rotating count clockwise

The feature for the gimbal lock pulls up I press the button on the screen then the camera keeps rotating clockwise slowly there is no lock happening

My Ronin S finally gave up this weekend, this video was exactly what I needed for as side by side comparison! Thanks for that, and also mentioning Portrait mode - was kinda confused on why nobody's talking about this, and why DJI is selling a separate vertical mount as well... how are you finding that mode, is it limited at all?

Happy that my take in this video was helpful to you! Portrait mode is pretty much only pan/tilt/follow motions, so you wont be able to really execute super dynamic movements well, maybe things you would want the fpv setting for. But for general usage, absolutely fantastic! Really depends on how wild you get with your camera movements. For most people, it’ll do what you want forsure 💯✔️🔥

Very stable, and that is correct. Though I’ve found, no matter how zoomed it is, I can balance it and it’ll be fine.

That sounds like an issue with the gimbal itself. I would get that checked out, especially if that’s happens after you’ve properly balanced it

Happy to have you on channel! And normal calibration is for everyday shooting. Use super smooth when you’re in a situations with a lot of moving (shooting out of cars, tons of camera or gimbal movement, on a train, etc…). That’s how I optimize for it, doesn’t really matter what type of lens you use!💯✔️🔥

I don’t believe I do, I’m fine with the settings that are in that gimbal already. Though I may be wrong, but you should be able to really tweak the settings through the app.

When you’re in supersmooth does your gimbal make weird noises ?

It doesn’t make weird noises, however, I have noticed when I switch over to super smooth, the gimbal is more liable to giving out for some reason. The best way I found to combat this is to simply rebalance the gimbal for exactly the focal length/lens that I’ll be using for whatever shot. Hopefully this helps! 💯✔️🔥
