Tello.is fantastic , I bought mine a year ago and still love it today and never get bored with it . On a windless day out in the open the tello is so much fun , to whiz around . If your thinking of buying a tello trust me you won't regret it .

Thank you! Also I would love to but there are some legalities with flying outside of VLOS (visual line of sight) in the United States. I already know that because the max distance that’s stated on DJI’s website is far beyond VLOS, flying the DJI Mavic Pro to as far as in can fly would have to go far beyond VLOS and so I sadly cannot do a range test :/.

This might sound silly, but when you said it needs Wi-Fi to work, does the drone itself has its own Wi-Fi like a Wi-Fi DSLR camera would. Or do you need a Wi-Fi connection in the area, like a shop connection, that kind of thing? Thanks :)

I’m not sure why it’s important to know that information, but I would say at about 60-70 feet it begins getting a little unreliable haha - but, if it escapes the range of the controller, it will just stop the motors and the board will coast if it loses that connection!!

Nice video! Jul 2019 - I bought 2 of these. I had overheating error messages. Occurred when turning unit on and not flying for 3+ minutes. Customer Support advised to initiate flight right away as unit cools when in flight. Some internet research said same problem. FYI - I keep the packaging cases for storing the drones when off to flying opportunities. Cases are secured with a paper fastener clamp. The stability is amazing. Maybe a DJI Spark, MantisQ, next-- although I do like RYZE's customer email support and their affiliation with DJI + Intel engineering. Also - Elec Image stabilization at 720hd crops a bit on the edges. So be mindful that your phone wont show the true frame. Ie - don?t cut off your head LOL. I will get a Gamesir controller and a wifi Xtender next. Slight breezes are not good - but have fun and experiment. There are new 3rd party apps available too. Thanks!

Yeah :/ that goes along with the problem of there being no micro SD card slot which means that the video that is downlinked to your phone is the best it’s going to get and in my case, the downlink was not very good so that resulted in stuttering and low video quality.

I did see another video where the drone flyer connected the phone and drone in a different way (i.e. literally following the instructions) and had bluetooth turned off and there was no stuttering of the video at all. So maybe there is a way of recording stutter free video

If you put your phone in airplane mode then connect to the drone via wi fi it cuts this down a lot

He said it only works with the phone, so probably not. Wifi and normal controllers usually do not use the same protocol.

I own this drone. I crashed it into the lake and completely submerged it in the water. I'm using it for more family fun pics this year. I prefer racing drones and tiny whoops, but this is a great camera drone for recording memories along the way. Great vid, but yeah, too much actually. Lol 👍🏻

I think by IR sensors, you means ultrasonics... Dji tech is a flight level and a camera sensor trio that work to stabilise hover and positioning by taking photos a few times a second and comparing the images to maintain a steady position on hover. The ultrasonics help maintain an altitude fix at around 6 feet or lower. Probably 3 feet on the Tello as the power output will be significantly lower than the bigger cousins.

Thanks so much! Also, that isn’t an odd question at all haha - I purchased them from warbyparker.com and the style is “Nash” in Crystal. Sadly enough though, they do not have that specific frame anymore :(. They do have a bunch of other awesome frames though for a really affordable cost (and a couple that actually look similar to mine now - I think they may have just changed the name from Nash to another frame! I love my glasses from Warby Parker; I’d recommend them in a heartbeat because they’re strongly built and their overall business motto of when you buy a pair, a pair is given to someone in need of glasses is just amazing. 10/10 support as well because I originally received my 3 pairs of glasses with a slightly wrong prescription in them (it wasn’t their fault, it was my optometrists) and they willingly sent out another 3 brand new pairs to my house in less than a couple of days with the corrections made. I did have to send back the original 3 pairs but overall I’ve had an amazing experience with them and will absolutely go back to them in the future!

But also, if you turn the video to 0.25 speed, you can see it never actually “crashes” it rather just is hovering past/over the rocks. Purely an editing mistake I’m not sure how that shot snuck in there because it should have been what the drone was seeing at that time 🤔.
