Hi, our pro mixers have 19dB+ of headroom, so they can go far into the reds before any clipping occurs on the Master Outputs. However, not all equipment inputs, such as amplifiers, etc., can handle this. You need to match the output attenuator to the input rating and keep the music at 0dB so the sound engineer can get the best signal to noise ratio. Different songs and different players have different output levels, so the gain should be checked for every song - 12 o'clock is not a default.

I agree with you. I'm a new DJ and I just try to mix without the Sync button. With Sync it's just play and switch between the tracks and that sucks

Good point, so even if it's completely in the red and get's close to the max headroom of the mixer, the DJM-2000nexus has a peak limiter.

Most of the time it's not much of a problem. But in some applications such as huge live sound rigs, amplifying a slightly distorted signal from a DJ mixer will magnify the distortion and it's very clear. The bigger the sound rig, the more careful you should be to keep your levels close to 0db.

You guys should build an effects unit with all the effects the DJM 2000 nexus has, I would buy that instantly! I prefer the Xone:92 as a mixer because I can use up to 4 effects at the same time, of which I can exchange 3 freely (the Filters are set by the mixer). I want as much freedom as possible with exchanging and combining my effects, and if you would build an effects unit like suggested above I would integrade that into my setup instantly!

for people who own djm 2000 it is no need to upgrade to djm 2000 nexus, just upgrade your firmware and you good to go.

What about internal audio interface? Can I just connect my MacBook Pro without any additional audio interface and record sound on my laptop?

Yes you can but of late there's a problem with OSX High Sierra, only see's the DJM2000 Nexus as an output and not an input :( hoping Pioneer will sort it out soon but yes you can record without an audio interface :)

Nice update. I have one question though - many people told me that I should play my music with gain level adjusted to 0 dB on mixer's volume level, because the quality of sound will be better. However, when Gain is set at 12 o'clock (which sounds like a default position to me) my CDJs play a sound that reaches 7-10 dB and despite that I hear no clipping, sound is OK. Is this whole "adjust to 0 dB on mixer" thing is a myth? When does the peak limiter really start working?

Can you insert your USB into the DJM and it'll load all of the songs onto the seperate CDJ's...or must you get 4 seperate USB's for each CDJ?

One USB, use link function on each cdj, thats what the Pro dj link is designed for via the ethernet connections :)

Sorry, you can’t use x2 BPM FX at the same time. But you could always combine the BPM FX and INST FX to create for example. An ECHO (BPM FX) and HPF (INST FX).
