Let me Explain...
So, I re-made this video for my bar manager Lori, at Willie's Wetspot Bar in Smyrna, Tennessee. This was her favorite song. The original was a live performance with Dick Clark. The audio was poor quality.
I'm a video DJ, so when I was remastering the track and video together, I found that the original performance was lacking...
I found a comedy skit of Comedian,
"Andre Van Duin." He did a parody-lip-sync performance in 1964 with a compilation of songs and quotes that were hits at the time.
I decided to edit him into the ending of the video, because he was more visually entertaining. It's funny how so many people think he's one of the Trashmen... sorry. But go look him up from 1964. After 11yrs of this video going viral, because of Family Guy,
I finally decided to set the record straight and give credit where it was due.

I know this was and still is a joke/meme song both in 1963 and today but in all seriousness this shit was way ahead of its time. You can easily hear the influences on later styles of music that derived from rock (particularly punk) in the instrumentals and vocals. Well, I was 10 years old then. And some viewers of this video certainly weren't around then, but... the Cuban missile crisis had just happened a few months previously. The US and USSR were playing chicken with nuclear warheads in Cuba. I remember my mom and me standing in front of the TV, wondering if we were all going to get burned alive, or worse, in a nuclear holocaust. So perhaps you think this song seems goofy.
