And 2024, the year the United States of America came to an end. One day Calvin Broadus will have to ask himself was it worth denigrating black people with "gangsta rap" and sending more blacks to the California prison system in lockstep with each song that came out of his head, when he could have instead honored his elders, that is the original Hip Hop artists and culture as manifested in my hometown of than New York and I have the birth certificate to prove it, not like all those illegals they got up there now.

The History of NYC's "Electric Boogie" by Jorge Fabel Pabon..........One of the first electric boogie contests I witnessed, in 1981, was at Harlem's P.A.L. on 123rd Street. I saw dozens of boogie boys and crews competing that night. That's where I first saw Supreme/Troy dance with Get Loose Bruce and win a contest. There was another crew that wore military fatigue pants and t-shirts, who also joined the contest, they were dope at floats/glides/slides & tickin'. The Float Committee also had boogie boys: Doug, Will and others. Harlem also had Larry Love and dudes that rolled with him
Damn I remember watching them perform this at Nassau coliseum in Long Island. They killed it

These guys were pioneers of the hip hop & rap world, and one thing for sure is that, it was done from the heart with pure lyrical skill & talent, it wasn't always about the damn money. And you listen, you can hear a major difference in ol skool hip hop vs. that stuff that they call hip hop of today. At least the lyrics were clear back then. Thank God for ol skool!

I see a lot of NYC comments. Because NYC is the home of hip hop I often wonder what songs were just hot in NYC or did they make it out of NYC in the early 80’s to mid 90’s like this one. The energy was something special back then.
